Fantastic Four replacement who operates in a Thing suit.

So... What Protects Her Head?

I get the Thing suit probably gives her super strength and durability like the Thing, but what about her head? Superheroes tend to get punched in the face a lot, especially brawlers. Does the suit have a force field or something or does Darla have an iron jaw?

C'mon. If someone was aiming for her head, that would mean they were trying to KILL her.

And there are no people who'd try to do that, even in comic books. She's a substitute member of the Fantastic Four.

Plus, if they did, and Johnny remembered her name, he'd probably show them what it's like to Flame On when you're not fireproof.

Same reason why all the characters who wear spandex thin kevlar like armor do not get concussed, crippled, or killed every issue. Or how many thousands of battles (even on a massive scale) and yet no one seems to ever take a head shot. Psylocke has fought half naked for so long how is she not a walking scar?

A lot of readers want to see the characters faces and as much of the female characters skin as they legally show, chalk it up to the suspension of disbelief and call it a day.

Agreed. Fraction could have added a better character. Maybe Tigra now that Avengers Academy is done.

I personally feel that Ms Thing would be a lot better for a completely different series. The team already has She Hulk as their heavy hitter and also Medusa's hair has super strength as well. Fraction should have used someone more useful.

Tigra and She Hulk together making Scott Lang all embarrassed while being awesome. A ranged character would have been good to hell Photon isn't doing sh!t these days give her a spot somewhere.

DeConnick got major respect points for that one. I haven't been reading, but I checked out some scans. I thought it was only an arc though she still playing side kick?
