"War of the Marvels" reaches it's conclusion and while I was immensely disappointed by this story, that doesn't mean I wasn't entertained.  First, Karla Sofen is written completely out of character as a murderous witch, and while she may have been many years ago, she had since reformed. But writer, Brian Reed, brings the former Moonstone back to those evil roots so that he, Karla, and Carol Danvers can go even further back to discover what it is that made Karla into the woman she is now. Ultimately, Carol pulls herself together and forces Karla to accept the harsh truth of who she's become, but gives her the opportunity to become a real heroine worthy of the name, Ms. Marvel, though does it in a way where Carol proves she's the real Ms. Marvel. In the end I'm still very confused why Karla fought so hard for the title against Carol and why their own unique connections to the Kree weren't further explored (actually it wasn't even touched upon). If Reed plans on making Karla a regular opponent hopefully we'll some of this brought up in the future - both Ms. Marvel and Moonstone make awesome opponents.  Oh, and I'm glad Carol is alive and back to staring in her book - I'd like to see Ms. Marvel going back to her original purpose, being the best of the best.
