Plot Summary

Iron Man and Ms. Marvel are at the scene of a murder using a device Reed Richards built to try to figure out exactly what happened then. As Iron Man is trying to filter out holograms of events that happened there which have no importance to the murder at all, they see a hologram of Carol beating Michael Barnett to death, and although Iron Man tells her that it's an event that happened a while ago and there's nothing they can do, Carol still feels bad for what happened, when suddenly they see the hologram of Carol turn change shape, so they realize that it was a shape-shifter that killed him. Although neither of them recognize her, Ms. Marvel will not forget her face. The woman then steals a file about Carol Danvers before changing her shape back into Carol's and departing. Ms. Marvel is angry over what happened and Iron Man tells her not to leave all the anger and hate bottled up or it can be dangerous. She tells him that she'll mourn about this later, but right now she wants to deal with this matter herself because she feels it's a personal problem and doesn't want the Avengers to interfere. She later goes to Michael's funeral, but after it ends, she has a 7th sense premonition and goes crazy and falls into a grave. She wakes up, and two men ask if she's okay and if she wants a cab, but she says she's fine and departs. Later, Carol infiltrates a cargo hangar at John F. Kennedy International Airport looking for information. She finds some tickets and passports as well as a bunch of weapons. But then she gets a 7th sense premonition and all around her she sees flaming replicas of herself surrounding her but then they all mysteriously disappear but as she looks in a mirror, she sees a skull in place of her face but before she screams, she hears people enter and quiets down. She overhears them but unfortunately makes a noise alerting them to her presense. They attack her and she realizes that Pierce is not completely human, explaining his strength and skill. One of the men, a mutant with the power to increase somethings density, starts making her mass increase until her heart breaks from the pressure but then she uses the extra mass to her advantage to shatter the ground beneath her and get away. The gang then wonders who she was and what they should do now. Later, Carol is at the airport, boarding a plane when she meets with Peter Coelho and stays with him through the whole flight. Meanwhile in Hong Kong, Irene Adler tells Mystique, who is with her, that Carol is approaching Hong Kong and that she must leave her alone. But Mystique gets mad because she is told that Carol will cost Rogue her soul and life and she will do anything to prevent harm, even if Irene is wrong about what she perceives, for it's only a "might, not a certainty. Mystique then tells Pyro and Avalanche to go after and kill Carol Danvers. While Carol is on the plane, she awakens in the morning, but sees a vision of two figures dancing and sees that there is love between the two of them. She then sees another presense who calls herself Rogue and she is here to be killed and if she doesn't she'll take everything away from her. She awakens terrified because she seemed to enjoy killing Rogue. She also awakened Peter and decides not to frighten him and they just talk a little when the plane begins to land, and another passenger prepares to tell Mr. Shaw that Danvers is making her move. At a hotel, Carol thinks about all the premonitions she's had when the bell is rung and goes to answer it, only to find Avalanche who then attacks her. As Carol and objects in the apartment go flying out the window, Carol changes to Ms. Marvel and keeps the objects from hitting civilians below. However, as she lands safely she is attacked by Pyro, who then thinks that she's not hard at all to handle and says Mystique was wrong, but as he says that name, the image of the woman who posed as Carol to kill Michael appears and she realizes she is Mystique. This makes her angry and she charges towards Pyro and hits him a few times when Avalanche appears and attacks but she takes him out too. She then asks him for information, but then the hotel they were fighting near begins to collapse like in her premonition. Carol later thinks about all of this, and notices a familiar-looking man. In a car, Tessa and Mr. Shaw are talking to each other about Coelho. Later, Mystique is mad that visions by Irene of Carol are just gone but she says she'll not allow her to harm Rogue even if it costs her own life. She then tells Mystique she's back in San Francisco where Carol is going home after shopping when all of a sudden she is attacked by Rogue who says that Mystique wants Carol dead for her safety, but she feels that if it's about her she'll deal with it herself. Carol thinks about all this and wonders why Mystique wants her dead as she changes to Ms. Marvel and fights Rogue, but then Rogue makes contact with her, activating her mutant power to absorb her power as well as part of her personality and realizes it's too much. Then, Mystique finds Rogue unconscious and asks what happened to her, meanwhile Carol was saved by Spider-woman and Professor X helps her rediscover some of what she lost and she also fought along the X-men for a time, until that is, within her, the Binary awakens.
