Background

Secret Wars

The Skrull empire sent Lyja (possibly because she once had a failed relationship with Paibok The Power Skrull, leader of the Skrull) to infiltrate the Fantastic Four using her powers as a Shapeshifter. Originally she replaced Alicia Masters, The Thing's girlfriend, her identity was compromised when The Thing almost decided to stay at home after the Secret Wars. She then tried to seduce Human Torch instead. When the Fantastic Four found out that the real Alicia was a captive of the Skrull and went to rescue her, Lyja took a bullet that was intended for Johnny.

Post Secret Wars

Paibok The Power Skrull ressurected Lyja, granting her also the powers of flight and thermal energy blasts. These powers were later revealed to come from a special device implanted into her. Over time, Lyja sided with the Fantastic Four over the Skrull several times. Eventually, Johnny and her began to grow close again. She revealed that she was pregnant with Johnny's baby and whilst giving birth (to an egg) the implant also left her body. She then returned to her normal set of powers. Lyja was always keeping a secret from Johnny and eventually she decided to tell him. The egg inside her was not actually her and Johnny's baby but a secret Skrull bio-weapon implanted inside her. She had destroyed it after birth. Johnny was so enraged he broke things off with Lyja once again.

Laura Green

After her break up with Johnny, Lyja stalked him for a while under the illusion of a human being known as Laura Green. Johnny was interested in a fellow student at the time, but decided he had more feelings for "Laura". However, Lyja had learned her lesson and decided to tell Johnny the truth before he felt betrayed again. Johnny had however realised this before she got round to telling him. Things with Johnny were thought to be fine until the entire Fantastic Four were thought dead after their battle with Onslaught. Lyja was then left to try and lead a life as a normal human being.

Alternate Universes

Earth 982 (MC2) - Lyja is Ms Fantastic, the only female member of the Fantastic Five. She has a son with Johnny named Torus Storm, who has both his father and mother's powers.

Earth 2149 (Marvel Zombies) - Lyja is a zombie living on Galactus' zombie planet. She claims to be insulted when Johnny claims to know her, and is killed by the Invisible Woman before she manages to bite Johnny.
