    Brief History

Mrs. Gwynn is the mother of Pixie. Next to nothing is known of her past or how  she met Pixie's father, the villainous Mastermind.  She fabricated an elaborate hoax so that  Pixie would believe that her father was a simple coal miner who died there. For whatever reason, Pixie and her mother have a somewhat strained relationship and don't communicate very often.  Despite this, however, she is very protective of her child and tries her best to keep her safe. To this end, she entrusted her daughter with the X-Men at Xavier's Institute.  Even after M-day and the ordeal with William Stryker, the death of most de-powered students and Magik corrupting her daughter's soul, she still trusted the X-Men with her child's life.

When her daughter is endangered, Pixie calls out to her mother magically and Mrs. Gwynn rushes to Utopia to find out what is wrong.  Upon arriving, however, she alludes to Pixie's father's origins and true nature while speaking with X-Men Nightcrawler  and Psylocke.  When the X-Men, in no uncertain terms, told her that Pixie is missing she doesn't take the news well and decides to find the girl on her own.  In doing so, she also shows her apparent magical powers. During the event she sets out the Wyngarde sisters for help to find her daughter as she is angry at the X-Men for not taking care of her child. The Masterminds sister aren't thrill to see her but joined her cause to find her daughter due to offer she will give them if they help her. It is learned that Pixie was raised by Mrs. Gwynn grand parents.

    Creation

Mrs. Gwynn is a Marvel comic book character created by Mike Carey, Greg Land, Kathryn Immonen and Sara Pichell. The character is introduced in  X-Men Free Comic Book Day 2008 #1 in a flashback as the mother of the X-Men character Pixie. She appeared as a normal human of Welsh descent and the partner of a Welsh coal miner. However in the 2010 X-Men: Pixie Strikes Back this is revealed as a rouse with Mrs. Gwynn actually being a powerful fairy, and Pixie's father revealed to be Mastermind. There are other Fairies from a world called  Avalon, such as   Tink and her father the fairy king  Oberon who may or may not be of the same race as well as  Grande Dame a queen of a scottish fairy linked land. Mrs. Gwynn may be related to these Avalon fairies.

    Powers and Abilities

Faerie apparently possesses massive magical powers, which is why Saturnine kidnapped Pixie in order to hold her ransom for Faerie's power. She has shown amazing strength beyond a normal woman of her weight and age; She was able to swat away Nightcrawler with a passing back hand that made him appear as if a rag doll.  She also showed teleportation, which manifest as swirls of brown dust and the ability to float. She is also resistant to both the Mastermind sisters telepathic illusions, as Regan created a scenario of Mrs. Gwynn in space and she still could breathe, while Martinique tries to burn her by creating the illusion of flames and it didn't affect her only to her annoyance.
