There are 11 types of Intelligence according to Howard Gardner: Spatial, Bodily-Kinethics, Naturalistic, Interpersonal, Intrapersonal, Verbal-Linguistic,Logical-Mathematical, Musical, Existential, Spiritual and Moral.

based on their personalities, Dr. Reed has more of the 11 than Batman. So my bet is Dr. Reed.

The power rankings here are more like a popularity contest than actual rankings. You could vote enough and make Storm the smartest and best overall IF you wanted to. People do it all the time. Thats why Storm is almsot number one on the overall list. Fanboys/girls just vote for thier fav instead of who actually would win, and they vote over and over and over again.

I think the powers/abilities rankings have become completely corrupted by fanboyism to the point they are meaningless. I stopped paying attention to them months ago.

Im a big batman fan but i think reed is way smarter 

Batman maybe more knowledgable than Reed in some areas but he's not as smart as Reed.I honestly don't even think he's smarter than Tony Stark.

What about street smart? I mean after all this time I think Batman has probably earned his Ph. D. in street degree. I think he's smart in that way, but yeah not so much in the book smart category compared to Reed.

Their expertise is in different fields -Batman is the greater detective, Reed is the greater scientist.

while i'd put Reed in the "Intelligent" box, i'd put Batman more in the "Wise" box, not to say he isn't intelligent, but he isn't at genius level intellect or anything. he's wise and has experience, but he's not on any kind of intellect level like Mr Terrific or Mr Fantastic

Yeah static and I argued this way way back in the day lol. Reed is smarter though. Batman only has him in one field thats being a detective. Even though I think reed won't have to much of a problem solving a mystery. He found out how to beat gladiator on there first occasion.

i believe this disscision mainly revolves around who's smarter scientifically  which that would be reed because he is a scientist

While I don't think Batman is as good a physicist as Fantastic, you have to take into account Bat's expertise in several other areas of science.  If I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first injustice on the comicvine boards; like Batman above Mister Miracle on the escape artists page, and isn't Plastic Man more stretchy than Fantastic?

I've always been under the impression that Reed is super-smart, as in smarter than a normal human could possibly be. If that's true then Batman can't really compete Reed in terms of pure I.Q.

Batman is smart but not that smart... if you want to compare smarts I.Q. wise you would have a better debate over who is smarter Tony Stark or Richard Reed... they are both smart and scientist so that would be a better comparison then Batman and Reed.

Clearly you have no idea what you are talking about. Yes Batman is a better tactition and detective, but in pure intelligence Reed clearly dusts him. Last time I checked Batman has never invented a time machine or done a myriad of other things that reed has accomplished. Batman is smart but clearly not on the same level. Reed has to battle intellect with Dr. Doom who is even better with Prep than Batman is and who is also smarter than Batman. If you want someone of comparative intelligence to Reed Richards you need to look at Bruce Banner, or Victor Von Doom."

   Reed Richards is smarter than Batman hands down. Of the ordinaly human beings in the DC Universe, only Lex Luthor can compare to him. Reed is smarter than Batman...

    ...and it wouldn't help him one bit. Batman would slaughter the man. If you were to put both men in a situation where quick thinking was needed, Batman would be making his choice - and it would usually be the right one - while Reed Richards was still weighing and balancing his options. Reed's too careful.

   Now, if this was a "Invent an Interdimentional Teleporter" sort of situation, obviously Reed would have Batman on the ropes. Reed IS a more intelligent man, with more scientific knowledge at his disposal.

   I'm just saying that it wouldn't usually matter. Batman would slaughter the man in a fight, and usually be smart enough to puzzle out a situation just as quickly as Richards. Reed would usually only have the edge in inventive genius.

Generally yes, Reed is smarter. Define what you mean by smarter and more importantly, the various ways you could define smarter and things open up a bit more. Reed's IQ on the other hand, would make Batman stroke his chin meditatively.

ye differnt kinds of smarts batmans smarter in the sense he plans better and figures things out easy but not like reed where he invents things and is a genuis in all types of fields. Though batman is a genuis in alot of fields to.
