This Issue Was Awesome... Until the End
So Morning Glories finally managed to pull off a really cool issue. Both the 'good guys' and the 'bad guys' were clever and had several tricks up their sleeves.
Casey, leads an escape attempt, but then is betrayed by Ike. But that's just the beginning. Meanwhile, throughout the story, Mr. Gribbs is lecturing 'toward camera' - in other words, giving us a first person point of view from the perspective of some unknown person (presumably a student), whose identity isn't revealed until the end, which was a nice technique.
But we eventually get to the end - and all this excitement and mystery falls apart:
Casey and the other students were just stalling to allow Hunter and Jun to rescue Jade. But if they were able to get Jade off school grounds, why couldn't they use that means of egress to escape themselves? And if they weren't able to get Jade off school grounds, then they didn't really rescue her at all, since the teachers could just send her straight back to the infirmary. The issue just glosses over this - we have no idea how Hunter and Jun rescued her - just that they got into the infirmary and got her out on a gurney.
Second, Mr. Gribbs threatens Casey through her good-nature and desire to rescue all the Morning Glories. Basically he threatens not her but the others in order to keep her in line. But it rings kind of hollow, since Ms. Darabont already used this tactic by threatening Jade, which is how we got to this point to begin with.
