Like snake venom being the cure for snake bits, vampire bat blood could have been the cure for the bat disease. This could have been a subject untolded in the comic world of Marvel. Also if Morbius didn't give himself the electro shock treatment, would he become deformed like Bloodbath? The electroshock treatment could have also gave him a blance between the disease and the bat blood, which could give him a broader choice of blood to feed off of unlike Bloodbath.
