Funny as we were talking about this in the New Mutants thread. 
 
I don't know if Brightwind died.  Reignfire killed Darkwind, but later when Dani goes to visit her dad there's a comment that suggests he's still alive.  Although I chucked that down to bad continuity at the time... I wouldn't object to seeing either Bright or Darkwind again :)
