New Series Theory

The day has arrived and as of this post I have NOT read the comic. We've all seen the previews and the subtle clues that our favorite Lunar Legionnaire will be having delusions and believing that he's Spider-Man, Captain America or Wolverine. We've seen in the previews that Marc is talking to these men as the series opens. Later, we see Marc taking on Mr. Hyde, a villain of vast superhurman strength who should honestly swat him around like a fly.

My theory is this: Mr. Hyde's brutal assault causes Marc some form of mental trauma/relapse to his previous mental problems. The last men he spoke with would be prevalant in his fragile mind. Therefore, voila he starts thinking he's actually them.

This may be the ramnbling of a man that also needs mental help (I mean myself) but I think it could actually happen.

Oh god.... no. That'd be pathetic.

Sadly this is probably gonna happen unless Bendis just retcons it in there for no reason. :(

I've just read a few things online that suggest this new series is selling like hotcakes.

Figures. Anyone sees Wolverine's claws on the cover and its an instant buy. -___-

For what it's worth, I enjoyed the issue and know nothing about Moon Knight, but I like Maleev's art. Hope you guys do too.

I'm hoping to get this one today. I've read reviews that it's great, but here's hoping that he hasn't completely murdered the character purely for an "exciting story" *crosses fingers*

I enjoyed the first issue, I just wish it was more focused on Moon Knight and left out the other Avengers or just not as present in the first issue. I'm hoping that after this first story gets over it'll be a little more focused on Moon Knight.

I'm still very excited for this run. :)

@InnerVenom123: InnverVenom's still thinking the new Moon Knight series is venomous! ha ha ha Couldn't resist, sorry! I heard it has pretty good reviews and sales, but hopefully it will gain enough popularity so Cap, Wolverine, and Spider-Man can go bye bye (maybe there will be an arc where the Cap, Wolverine, Spider-Man personality things get murdered by Khonshu in Marc's head). Would it have made a difference if Bendis chose different characters for Moon Knight to "emulate"? I ask that because I am sick to death of Spider-Man and Wolverine's saturation of being in nearly every comic. That really bothers me, but I won't rant about it!

Moon Knight's "emulation" is a terrible concept, so no, I wouldn't be cool with it if it was someone else.

I retract this statement. I read this when I was pretty tired and I didn't really catch what happened at the end of the issue. I am skeptical as to how this might turn out, I would like to see it be done well. I continue to be excited and I hope this run lasts.

I have no problem with those guys being in his head, but it he starts acting like them, that's when I'm going to sternly roll my eyes :P

@Danial79 Yeah I know what you mean. I really hope he doesn't, and if he does...I'll probably be a sucker and keep buying them and hope there is a recovery. Just block out the memories of it happening when it's over. :P

Moon Knight, Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley: four different aspects of the same man, who was resurrected by Khonshu, the Egyptian Lunar-God of Vengeance and Justice, to serve as his "avatar", and perform various acts of vengeance and justice on unjust mortals.
