Even though the last issue of MOON KNIGHT (number 17) came out in July, it feels like it's been a while since we've had an issue. With Secret Wars, most of the Marvel titles have ended and are being relaunched. The same holds true for Moon Knight!

Announced at the Diamond Baltimore Summit, MOON KNIGHT is coming back with a sort of new creative team.

The new series will be written by Jeff Lemire with Greg Smallwood (MOON KNIGHT #7-12) returning on art. The new series launches in 2016.

Marc Spector has been defending New York City for years as the masked vigilante known as Moon Knight. Or has he? Waking up in an insane asylum shakes that confidence. Turns out he’s been institutionalized since he was a child. But that can’t be true. Can it? Today, Marvel is pleased to announce MOON KNIGHT #1 – the brand new series coming next year from creators Jeff Lemire (Extraordinary X-Men, Sweet Tooth) and Greg Smallwood (Moon Knight)!

His mind is full of identities, and he no longer knows which is real. Now residing in a mental health facility, his thoughts are clouded and he has no idea what to believe. If he calls to Khonshu, he believes the ancient Egyptian lunar god will answer. Is this a sign he still clings to his sanity, or has it slipped from him completely? If Khonshu answers his prayers – what could he ask in return this time?

“To me Marc is a very ill man,” says series writer Jeff Lemire, in an interview with Marvel.com. “And being Moon Knight is either going to be a part of that illness, and ultimately destroy him, or it is going to be his path to salvation.”

Fantastic creative team, especially Smallwood, his panel layouts are amazing. The camera issue is still my favorite of this run art wise.

One of the few all new all different titles to attract my attention.

Yay, we get another Moon Knight series, and then it gets cancelled after 17 or 20 issues.

Thanks for getting us some news on this, I was getting bummed with all these new title but not a peep about Moon Knight, I feared he was getting the shaft by this new Marvel agenda.

SOOOO glad to hear Smallwood is back! He really has a great style for this title and his art kept getting better every issue!

Yeah,I saw that,not really what I'm looking for.Plus it's a mini series.I want a Luke Cage solo series without him being a husband and a father.I want a fresh start for him.I'm also wondering since no one knows who Daredevil is anymore how will that affect his relationship Luke and Danny for the planned Defenders book Alonso hinted at awhile back.
