    Moon Knight

Character » Moon Knight appears in 1414 issues.

Moon Knight, Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley: four different aspects of the same man who was resurrected by Khonshu (the Egyptian Lunar-God of Vengeance and Justice) to serve as his "avatar." OK, I know G-Man has already done an Off My Mind type thing on this, but I wanted to created a thread where we could go into more details about what we would like to see in a Moon Knight game...

    • Would you want an epic (such as G-Man described), spanning MK's entire comic history, or focus more on a particular time period or arc?
    • Would you want it GTA-style open-world, or small and confined as in Arkham Asylum?  In other words, free-roaming or linear?
    • Which enemies would you like to see and how would they fit into your game world?
    • Which weaponry/tech would MK have at his disposal and how would he acquire/restock it?
    • Would you include auxiliary characters such as Marlene, Frenchie, and Crawley? If so, how would they be used?
    • Would you include cameos from other heroes, or make it MK's exclusive world?
    • How would Khonshu be handled in the game?
    • Would you include the use of Steven Grant and Jake Lockley? If so, how would they come into play?

So basically, I just want everyone to use this thread as a kind of think-tank and just post your own ideas, comment on others', and generally pretend we're actual game developers that could make this happen :D

I can see the game having mental battles, in which Marc has to fight his other personalities to keep his sanity, as well as fighting Khonshu's urges.

OK, so I'm about to go to bed, and thought I'd kick-start the discussions with my own rough ideas...

    • I'd start the game as G-Man described, in the jungles as a mercenary, and use this as the "training" level. You'd end up crawling to Khonshu and dying...
    • Wake up in a cinematic and return to a GTA-like NYC.
    • He discovers his abilities due to Khonshu acting as the "voice inside your head" explaining what you have to do/do next.
    • You start off with simple vigilante missions.
    • You'd have your mansion as the base of operations, but as you develop your alter-egos, you gain a condo and trashy apartment in other parts of the city.
    • Tech becomes available progressively as Frenchie develops it.
    • MK wouldn't jack cars as in GTA, but could ride the roofs as a quick means of transport to begin with. Once the Mooncopter or other Moon-vehicle is availble, they can then be used to get around.
    • Eventually a villain would show up and provide for more challenging missions. Not sure who the penultimate battle would be with.
    • I wouldn't have other heroes in the game, as I think it would take from MK's glory, but I would add in Marlene as a plot device as well as Crawley as an informant, possibly providing you with your missions.

So yeah, what do you guys think? Yay? Nay?

I would play that game all the time! Great ideas!
I'd keep it pretty much how you just described it, but I may add extra missions where you had to use each identity to access certain places, and I'd give him a cab he could use for transportation(when not using the Moon Copter). I think it'd be cool if the final boss was a mental battle with Khonshu!

i would ejoy a decent amount of an open world.  im going to make a referance to Assassins Creed.  the first one.  the entire time i was playing that game, I was just changing the character to MK.  i mean, he looks like MK so why not?  I would like that.  the world isnt as huge as GTA but its decently sized.  there would be random crimes for you to stop if you were passing by or something.

I imagine this is kinda what the next batman game will be like.
I'd go with the 06 run when it comes to story.  its arguably his best series and i think a lot of people could get into it, besides just the fans.

I'd say a GTA-open style game would be nice, with fighting random crimes when you come upon them if you choose in between missions. I would want characters like Crawley, Marlene, Frenchie, and Samuels  to appears in it. Tech upgrades would be really cool too. I think a Moon Knight game would actually be really awesome if it was done right!

Just had an idea that I wanted to put down before I forgot:

Obviously Batman: Arkham Asylum is the pinnacle of 3rd-person combat at the moment, so I imagine a Moon Knight game would feature a similar mechanic, but after reading the Death of Marc Spector arc, and its minor Venom battle, I thought a nice addition would be a "focus" mode or something, where time slows down and you can strategize your attack somewhat. In the example of Venom, you could battle it out (ala B:AA), or you could "focus" and target Venom's legs, which once "un-focused" would result in MK pulling out his billy-club thingy and tripped him. The same technique could be used for accurately aiming crescent darts, and breaking arms or legs etc.

I know the Marc Spector: Moon Knight run is generally frowned upon (for whatever reasons), but what would you guys think if the Hellbent were featured in an MK video game? I've just been reading through some of the older stuff, and most of MK's enemies/battles were one-shots, whereas the Hellbent featured in a whole arc, which, to me, makes them kinda significant.

I think above all thie game would have to be SCARY and CREEPY. This is a hero that has his roots in horror comics and specializes in weird crimes and the supernatural. So I agree it should probably be some kind of mashup of Arkham, Assassins Creed, GTA but I would throw some Resident Evil or Silent Hill into the pot.

    @danial79:

I pondered this concept for awhile now that the perfect Moon Knight video game would combine elements from Arkham City, Blood Borne, and Shadow of the Colossus.

    To explain:

Gameplay: Play as Moon Knight in a free roaming environment of either New York or LA. You can travel around in the Moon Chopter. Shadow of the Colossus comes in when there are about 30 different monsters roaming the city doing random things in real time as side missions. They can be usually found eating out of dumpsters or ripping the flesh off of dying people. Once they're dead they're dead, but you can resurrect them to kill them again later on using Khonshu. Blood Borne comes to mind for it being dark and challenging. One idea is to have a limited live system of which once you die you must restart the whole game. You start out with only 1 extra 1 up and can get more by dragging an unconscious criminal body to your lair and sacrifice him to Khonshu. You can use the Moon Copter to get it there. Eventually Marc Specter will grow a conscious like in the comics and won't allow you to gain anymore 1 ups since he feels killing is wrong. When you beat the game you will be able to sacrifice again. The game should have a day and night cycle of which can be speed up through sleep. In the day you are not allowed to be Moon Knight and must complete task as Steve Grant and Jake Lockley. Steve Grant will mostly be cut scene oriented and must maintain Specter Corp in order to make money for gadgets and upgrades. Jake Lockley will allow you to travel around the city a la GTA in order to get in info about future crimes going down in the city. You can also make money with the Taxi, but it won't be timed like crazy taxi. Going back to the gadgets and upgrades, eventually you'll be able to use things like his Web shooters, Wolverine claws, Captain America hologram shield, and His robot exoskeleton suit making him stronger. Upgrades are to increase how much the full moon increases Moon Knight's power and even though this is not like Moon Knight eventually when maxed out and you beat the game. Moon Knight will gain incredible mode in which he gains quicksilver like speed and Hulk like strength. Khonshu will follow you around the whole game mentally and will teach you moves. Moon Darts are limited and you must buy more if you run out. Villains include Bushman, Black Specter, Morpheus, Midnight, and bonus kill Deadpool Easter egg mission.

Too bad this game most likely will never exist but at least we have Moon Knight pinball and a Tall Tale game coming in 2017.
