That makes no sense at all. A handful of people on the CV forum who like to bitch and complain does not make up the whole of MK's fan base.

@IrishX I wasn't just talking about CV. I was talking about all the MK fans I know personally, on Twitter, and through reviewing sites. There are a lot out there that are not happy. On the other hand, the majority of good reviews begin by saying, "I've never read Moon Knight before...' so my statement does make sense. You seem to have assumed that I was just one of those who like to "bitch and complain", however, I check facts before spouting them ;)

@Danial79: Danial, I like you and enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm for Moon Knight ever since I saw you join the site. I've watched the Comic Vine MK fan base grow from basically nothing to one of the more vocal and active on this site. I've been reading MK for a while and am most certainly a fan. G-Man and plenty of others have enjoyed his books for a long time now and still enjoy the current series. I guess what it comes down to is that instead of assuming that only people who've "never read Moon Knight before" can like the current series you should just speak for yourself. Sorry if that comes off a bit harsh but I take some offense to being called a "non-fan" because I can enjoy a series with a great artist in Maleev starring one of my favorite characters. I would never say that anyone here is not a fan for complaining about the series and I'd expect the same courtesy.

@IrishX: It was a generalised observation based on what I've read/heard. I didn't mean that if you like this new series then you are not a Moon Knight fan, just that the majority of positive reviews are coming from non-fans, and that every MK fan (that I'm in contact with) is not liking it. There was no offence intended. If you're liking it, then you're one of the luck ones :)

I'm not a huge MK, but reading it does make me want to shoot a kitten in the face. I'm about to read #2, I'll let you know what I think in a few minutes.

I don't pay for books written by Bendis. I read them in the store. And he still owes me 65 billion dollars in damages for Siege. I could take his house and still be owed.

Just finished number 2. So bad, so very, very bad. I mean, 12 year old fan-fiction skimmed the character's wikipedia page level bad. It didn't even make sense. Why has MK suddenly suffered this monumental psychotic break? And why would he pick these heroes? It's insultingly bad. And does Bendis think all black people are the same? "He's gonna whack us for not whacking him". WTF?

Oh, and strippers. Spider-Man (according to Bendis' version of MK) can't handle a group of strippers. FFS.

I am sick of the series already and I am not too crazy about Maleev's artwork either. The only reason it's making $$$ is because overexposed Cap Spidey and wolverine are in it and so Bendis could monopolize Marvel. I'll just read Avengers Academy or Thunderbolts instead and wait for the next Moon Knight reboot (with Brubaker as writer and Coipel as artist, I'll even take Jason Aaron writing).

Amen to that. I was thinking, I'd like to see Moon Knight completely snap, kill someone, and up on the Thunderbolts team ;)

Either that, or give him to a noir writer such as Brubaker, as you suggested.

I don't buy this MK Bendis stuff, I just download it. I won't support it, but want to see exactly how much I should hate Bendis.

Personally, I liked his DD run, but I'm not familiar with alot of the previous DD comics.

@ReverseNegative: I take back what I said. It was out of line and for that I apologize. I think it's a general consensus amongst just about everyone that Bendis was responsible for bringing Daredevil back into greatness. Even most Bendis haters as far as I know still praise his run on DD.

I have a friend who is THE biggest DD fan you'll ever find, and he liked Bendis' run. However, when I explained to him what the guy is doing with MK, he said, "I'm so sorry. If he had done that to DD, I would have been mad as well" :P

Of course the difference is that DD doesn't have a history of being insane like Moon Knight does. Yes maybe he hasn't always gone around acting and dressing up like Spider-Man but you can't say it's really that far a leap for him. He cut off a guys face and then he proceded to wear it.....

I fully understand why many of you guys aren't happy. I'd rather not see MK doing this as well but it's only two issues in and I don't expect this to last long either. I don't know about you guys but I'd be fine if he talking with Cap and Spidey in his mind but the costume thing is what I really don't like. Still I take some enjoyment in the art, having a series starring MK again, and the awesome return of Echo.. Echo.. Echo.

You missed the point. Moon Knight may have been extra violent and a bit crazy, but he wasn't schizophrenic. Khonshu was proven to be real several times before and he had control over the personas he would take. Now he's dressing up like Spider-man and getting the @#%^ beaten out of him by hookers. :P So yes, it's a far leap. He went from being scary and a bit over the edge to a punchline that mocks MPD.

If you consider him wearing someone's face a "bit over the edge" and "a bit crazy" then we have very different opinions on what is crazy and what is a far leap. Also he didn't get the @#%^ beaten out of him by hookers..... he fought a martial arts expert who happens to be a women.

I liked the reveal at the end of the first one, made me chuckle though I don't think I could have carried on with that story, even as much as I love Maleev's art.

My fault, I meant he was "a bit crazy" compared to the rest of the MU's crazies. For example, Venom eats people. Shoulda said that. It's still a far leap for him to randomly go schizo and think he's Spidey-Cap-Wolverine when he clearly had his personas in order by the end of Shadowland.

I take my point back on that. It was Snapdragon dressed as a stripper.

I've actually enjoyed the series for the most part. However, the glaring lack of explanation for Marc's condition needs to be explained soon. I'm hoping since Echo asked him what was wrong that it's forthcoming.

For the record, I've read most of Moon Knight's modern stuff so I am NOT an outsider.

Yeah, having him play dress-ups took it from "different" to "ridiculous". I'll keep reviewing them as they come, so here's hoping Bendis somehow brings the series back around to the former.

dude you made it halfway?! i facepalmed on like page 3 or 4! but it wasn't a "this series is terrible facepalm" it was more of a "ugh i figured this was gonna happen facepalm."
