The second story arc with a new creative team.

Though Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey are no longer on this book, MOON KNIGHT LIVES ON! A new creative team has taken Ellis and Shalvey's places, and from the looks of this first issue [of the second story arc] it may be a success after all. BUT, before you read this review, I suggest you read my review for MOON KNIGHT #6! ALSO, you should read my other [awesome] reviews like Batman: Assault on Arkham, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [2014] Movie, Godzilla [2014], TTG! episode, "Money Grandma!", and Batman/Superman #13. NOW, that my plug for my other reviews are out of the way, let's get on with THIS review! (Oh, and follow me on Twitter @Lol_Clark.)

Yes, I am forever saddened that writer Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey are no longer on this book, with colorist Jordie Bellaire (whom is the only one that stayed). BUT, this new creative team shows promise. (The new creative team being writer Brian Wood and artist Greg Smallwood.) This issue is proof that the new creative team has a good grasp on the tone that was established by the last creative team. And this issue's story definitely makes me interested and wanting to come back for the 8th issue!

So in this issue, Moon Knight encounters an ex-soldier that is out seeking justice! (And looking to keep a promise.) The story was pretty basic, as expected from this series, however writer Brian Wood does a great job at taking the basic nature of the story and turns it to his advantage. (Much like writter Warren Ellis before him.) Through a blacked out New York to Moon Knight and the ex-soldier duking it out in the rain, Wood definitely honors the tone that Ellis and Shalvey had established with the last issue. I enjoy seeing how artist Greg Smallwood uses subtle gestures in each characters face, and utilizes Jordie Bellaire's colors, to tell a fuller more immersive story with Wood's story. The relationship between writer and artist is valued greatly in this issue, because Moon Knight's actions really carry weight on how well this series will do, and also how well the story is told. So I'm glad that the new creative team conveyed everything well! Especially in my next point bellow!

This single page really made me want to comeback for the next issue:

    No Caption Provided

Just how the page was set up with it gradually getting closer to Moon Knight's face, showed the intenseness of the situation that his therapist is in. I can't wait to see what Moon Knight and his new creative team will do next!

In conclusion, plot twist much? This should be interesting to see where writer Brian Wood takes this! 5 out of 5 everyone! Great job to the creative team for not screwing over Moon Knight with this second story arc! I'm expecting bigger and better things in the next issue! Until next time readers! Until next time readers!
