Moon Knight continues to stand out as one of the most individual series out there right now in comics as a whole. However, this week it stands out for different reasons, which, while not a bad thing, reinforces the issues that I do have with the series.

I won't say anything about the story, as there's so little of it, but it very much takes a back-seat here, book ending what is otherwise a visual high. The art here hearkens back to the Doctor Strange stories of yore, and is absolutely a blast to explore. It isn't always coherent or makes complete sense though, as is the nature of this style.

But, as I said, the story lacks here, as it has in the series as a whole. Yes, each issue provides a great single issue narration that tells a satisfying story that sometimes isn't completely explained and left up to you, but it ultimately feels a little unsatisying, especially when each issue feels like it ends very suddenly, barring the last one. Perhaps this is something that will be solved with the new creative team, but then I worry that we'll lose out on such an individual tone and style.

For what it is, this is the weakest of the series yet, but don't let that fool or discourage you; this is still a stand-out, fantastic issue, and you should definitely check it out, especially if already invested in the series.

Moreover, I really have to thank ellis for addin...

I'm not much a reviewer, but my god, this series is incredible. The visuals are stunning, the psychedelic pallet of the dreamstate Moon Knight has to visit in this issue is inspiring. The art in general is top notch, complementing the gritty style of the comic without having to rely on a dull, muddy colour range. This is a Moon Knight characterised as fulfilling his holy role as warden of night travellers, and it's great to see the focus shift from his own insanity to the insanity of the grisly...
