Proper Japanese Name: 早坂 みうら (Hayasaka Miura)
A somewhat brusque tomboy from the Yotsuba&! series. Best friend of Ena.
Miura is the best friend of Yotsuba's neighbour, Ena Ayase, and the two often appear together. Though not a particularly bad person, Miura isn't quite as patient with some of Yotsuba's behaviour as many of the other characters, and can become openly annoyed with her, or take to teasing her sometimes. Despite this, she bears no ill-will towards the younger girl, and tends to regret when her actions upset her more than she had intended.
Despite her tomboy-ishness, and sometimes blunt nature, Miura can be surprisingly squeamish, being afraid of any sort of slimy small creatures like worms and frogs, and showing great distress at watching a fish being gutted. Although Ena appears more gentle and feminine between the two, she shows no such fears, and doesn't hesitate to rein Miura in when she believes she's out of line.
For a class project with Ena, Miura created a robot-suit out of old cardboard. This creation is alternatively known as Cardbo or Danbo in different translations. Having happened upon Miura in the suit, Yotsuba believed that Danbo was a real robot, and Miura and Ena have worked to keep up this pretence.
