How about Tracie Thoms? I saw her in Death Proof and she has that perfect, 'stereotypical' black girl accent, complete with the "I'll kick yo ass" attitude, she'll be amazing as Msity.

So if they made an Iron Fist movie..they shouldn't put Misty in it? I mean Pepper Potts,Typhoid Mary,The Russian,and so on and so on and so on aren't very significant and they were in movies.Misty is obviously not going to get her own movie but not being able to be in one at all because of her lack of significance doesn't make any sense given the history.
You could say that Master Khan, Lei Kung the Thunderer or any of the other K'un L'un related characters from Iron Fist are not important but it still wouldn't be an Iron Fist movie without them. Misty Knight may not be significant at the very beginning of an Iron Fist origin movie but both she and Colleen Wing make up a big part of Iron Fist's history. Not putting her in makes it not an Iron Fist movie in my opinion.
I put up Sanaa Lathan as a choice for Misty, here's another choice that I'm surprised no one else has put out there: Alicia Keys.
@Vance Astro: Just me on this, but when Hollywood movie making geniuses decide that making the Kingpin a black man sounds like a good idea and that nobody that followed comics would notice let alone think it was a big deal, then Alicia Keys isn't too light for Misty Knight. Now if any of those knuckleheads decide to go the Kingpin route again and decide that Meagan Fox or any other currently "hot" white actress is the greatest choice for Misty Knight....then we got big problems.
IMO, Most of you are young from your answers and named actors that don't even look like her. Jessica White is the best choice because let's face it she's dark skinned, extremely beautiful and have that NY swagger. Those named above wouldn't make the movie work at all.

No to Beyonce, I doubt if they could get her to do it anyway even if they could still NO!
No to Angela Basset, I love her as an actress and she looks great for her age but I need someone younger, again sorry Angie.
I could get down with Taraji P. Henson she's young, beautiful, and a very talented black actress (maybe a bit short thought. IDK)
Zoe Saldana, OMG did you see her in Columbiana!? She is definitely on her way to being Hollywoods premier kick ass black actress and she would probably be my first choice, but if not her I'd go with...
KERRY WASHINGTON, all of the same wonderful qualities as Ms. Henson and Zoe Saldana plus she's been in Marvel movies already as many of you may remember her as Alicia Masters from the Fantastic Four films. Now I hate recasting as much as the next person, but if Chris Evans can play Captain America after having already played Human Torch than Ms. Washington can definitely play Misty, and if you need proof of her acting chops just watch her new show Scandal on ABC.
