    Trust the science

After last issue's poorly conceived and poorly set up excuse for Michael to doubt himself and maybe even feel sorry for himself, here the issue takes a bit of a turn back for the better.  He is trapped by a group of aliens with little motivation behind their actions other than they like to capture people who they can later use to help them in their plan for domination.  While the issue does descend at times into Michael thinking himself too much of a savage, the issue is actually a fair amount of fun.  One of the main ways it does this is by more or less giving up on science.  the first story arc based on Earth tried to keep the science more or less real, but in the cosmos there is free reign to get a little more loose on the science and not being so wed to real science helps the story along here as Michael plans an escape.  Still not the best, but I find that this issue captures the spirit of the first few issues better than the previous one did.  Maybe there is hope here after all.
