    John Myers wanted to re-invent himself, so he signed up for Roderick Kingsley's new program where a super identity (including a costume and powers) could be purchased for a licensing fee. He was given a robot suit and was assigned the superhero identitty of Missle Mate, but Myers truly desired to be a villain instead.

    Swayed by Phil Urich, Myers agreed to assassinate Kingsley in public, after which Myers would be named Urich's new Goblin Knight. Myers's assassination attempt failed and he was taken into custody by the police.
