The magazine known as Miss America started out as Miss America Comic, which only lasted one issue before the comic was changed to a magazine format. From the second issue on, the focus of the book was more on teenage romance story's then actual superhero story's. The second issue of Miss America also featured the first appearance of Patsy Walker, whom would later take a large role in the book, and eventually take the whole series over.
All together, Miss America Magazine ran 83 issues in total. It had a complicated numbering with a new volume that was put in the indica every few years, continuing up until vol. 7, issue 50 (better known as the 83rd issue of Miss America Magazine). After that issue, the series reverted back to a comic book format as Miss America, and started numbering with issue 51 (witch followed the numbering of 'vol. 7" of the Magazine).
