    Milorad Pavić (1929-2009) was a Serbian writer and literary historian. His most famous novel was the Dictionary of the Khazars (1984), hailed as "the first novel of the 21st century." His works have been translated into more than thirty languages and he was a potential candidate for the Nobel Prize in Literature.

    Several of Pavić's works have been adapted into comics and graphic novels, including "Third Argument" graphic novel by artist Zoran Tucić and writer Zoran Stefanović (1995), republished in three parts in Heavy Metal Magazine (1998-2000).
