'After all these years....'
WOW! Fellow MILESTONERS...at long last MILESTONE returns! It's hard to believe that 17 years ago these characters were made and they launched a big impact into comic books.
Anyway....I was surprised that they follow up from ICON #42, where Rocket's grandmother passed away, and issues before that she goes undercover in Holocaust's new Blood Syndicate (Tarmack, Bad Betty, Bubbasaur, Harm, Boogieman, Fade, and Flashback, but no Mistress Murder), with Hardware and Harm in on the operation as well (and finally reveals to everyone that he's an FBI agent). It was also good to see Flashback off her crack addiction from before in later ICON comics.
Static (wearing his Season 3/4 costume) joins in on the action....but he wasn't alone. THE BLOOD SYNDICATE came to play as well. Finally we have HARDWARE, BLOOD SYNDICATE, ICON & ROCKET, STATIC, SHADOW CABINET AND XOMBI into the DC Universe! (Now we have to wait for DEATHWISH and KOBALT).
Now we know what became of Holocaust's father... killed by his own hands. It was wonderfully to hear that Wise-Son spoke of Icon's inspiring words of wisdom from ICON issue 6 for having justice in the world as long as there were people willing to fight for it. I knew that Boogieman, Fade, and Flashback had to be undercover as well (there's no room for another Blood Syndicate in DAKOTA, plus this had to take place before the last few issues of Blood Syndicate before they fought the powerful, mystical forces of the Demon Fox). I was also surprised that Wise-Son kept Tech-9's old hat after he died in Blood Syndicate #4. My only shock was HOLOCAUST vs. WISE-Son, they both are invulnerable but when it came to turning up the heat.....Holocaust burned himself to hell (I smell of resurrection in the next issue in order keep his appearances in DC's The Brave and The Bold #24 and Teen Titans #79).
