@Remi: @Death Certificate: @Strider92: I just wonder why this show was created? Who was it aimed at? Why is it replacing the Spectacular Spiderman show? Why is it just an overall bad show?

It's got some good qualities but I constantly find myself asking

    - Why do they break the 4th wall every minute?

    - This isn't funny

    - Why does Spiderman have fantasies about every battle and then turn into a pudgy dwarf?

Well unless i'm very much mistaken Joe Kelly played a big part in it and we all know what zaney fourth wall Merc he's famous for.

In an interview recently Marvel stated that they made a mistake with Ult Spider-man and they have gone back to the drawing board for the 2end season. If the show doesn't get better ratings in the second season its gonna get axed and replaced.

If they called it Deadpool then it might marginally make sense.

yeah i just watched the first episode yesterday and wasnt feeling it. its funny because it seems like a lot of the marvel writers can write great stuff, but when they work together to make stories like ultimate spider-man or AvX, its laaame.

Sony owned spectacular spider man so when Marvel regained the TV rights for Spiderman they couldn't legally continue Spectacular because that particular show is the sole property of Sony, that's the whole reason Spectacular ended. Ultimate is 100% owned and produced by Marvel.

I understand that. But come on, remember the Spider-Man TV series from the 90s? That was aimed at kids, at me at the time. And yet, I still find the old episodes on Netflix enjoyable. Spectacular Spider-Man was a good example of sticking to source material and being enjoyable for all age comic fans. I'm not gonna lie, as a fan of the original Ultimate Spider-Man comic, I felt betrayed when this was less of a sequel to Spectacular, and some weird alternate (not Ultimate) universe with horrible art and an annoyingly unfunny Peter Parker. It's honestly embarrassing when Marvel can't produce a good show, despite having amazing writers at their disposal.

@The_Eurythmic_King_of_Nowhere: Marvel can produce a good show when they want to. Just look at Avengers EMH. Best Marvel cartoon we've gotten since IMO Wolverine and the X-Men. But like that show, EMH is canceled and getting replaced with another avengers show for some stupid reason

    (thanks a lot Loeb)

Well, when you've been around for 50 years you're bound to cry a few time. How long has Miles been around for now? A year and half? Miles has been in 32 issues so far, as opposed to Pete's 8114. You should cut Pete alittle slack.

Wow grown men are mad about a show meant for 4 to 12 year olds. Seriously I haven't seen one child complain about it, and why is that? Because its for their age group. But no offence guys, I don't completely blame you for having this opinion but lighten up, just don't watch it. If you enjoy it for what it is and stop comparing then that's cool. I also don't see why all the hate on the 4th wall breaking. People are acting like Deadpool owns this trait but he doesn't. She-Hulk(and Howard the Duck) has done it before his creation and Spidey has done it long before this show came to be. Now I am in no way trying to start a fight but the internet makes it seem bad but in reality its a big success, why else would it go for a third season?

@dayvid3: I'd say it's gotten better. They even used the word hell once. Season 3 is bound to be even better since he is joining the avengers. Besides I enjoy this show BECAUSE it is different, not the other way around.

Now that the CW is running the Spectacular Spider Man episodes again I find myself unable to watch the Ultimate series anymore. Before i would tune in to watch just for the shake of it being a Spider-Man cartoon. But the quality gets stomp by Spectacular. What I have heard from the forums and this goes for my other favorite canceled animated carton Avengers EMH is that the network found that the stories presented by both shows were too complicated for younger viewers to follow and were replaced by the current incarnations of the cartoons. So the cartoons are aimed at younger viewers and not mature watching audiences. But it still hurts knowing that Spectacular ended with so much potential still waiting and the same can be said about Avengers.
