    An Unspoken Threat

    The Story:

The Mighty Avengers face off against The Unspoken and in the process find out that the Scarlet Witch is in fact Loki impersonating her.

    My Thoughts:

This story is by Dan Slott and Christos N. Gage who continue to develop this brand new lineup that consists of Hank Pym, U.S. Agent, Vision, Cassie, Quicksilver, Jocasta, Hercules and Amadeus Cho. The main plot revolves around the character called The Unspoken who was overthrown by Black Bolt some time ago. His quest to find the Xerogen Crystals leads to an all out battle. While I didn't find this Unspoken character to be that interesting, at least this comic did provide enough decent moments to make this worthwhile. My favorite part would be when Clint Barton and Hank Pym were teamed up together on the battle field. It was nice to see these two teaming up together once again to fight the good fight. Another thing I like about this series is that it gives some of the lesser known characters more exposure. I feel as if some of these characters are often overlooked and viewed as unimportant when they have the potential to be so much more.

I don't know why but Jarvis just seems out of place in this comic. It's like he was denied a spot in the Invincible Iron Man series so Marvel stuck him on the Mighty Avengers. Nothing against Jarvis but I could go without seeing him in this series.

The art was pretty good. I didn't really have any complaints about it. It's done by Khoi Pham and Sean Chen. It's not mind-blowing but it's good enough to make this an enjoyable read.

Overall this was a pretty solid read but nothing that had me real excited. It is very self-contained. They do make mention of recent events but you wouldn't have had to have read them to understand what happens in this story. If you like the characters involved in the series then it may be worth it to you to check this out.

    Rating: 3.5/5
