Nice #2, 297
Up for a quick review is Mickey Mouse and friends #297.
Read this to my son last night. We both really liked it. It was a nice continuation from the last issue...
This issue has the three sorcerers Mickey, Donald, and Goofy teaming up to be in the sorcerers tournament. The Dolmen Swamp is the scene for the round of high stakes hide and seek with some magic scrolls. Pete being evil as he is decides to cheat to make sure they go up against an easy team to beat. One team consists of fire breathing dragons, which my boy really got a kick out of. In the end, Mickey and the gang prove that they can and do succeed without magic. But maybe with a little help from their friend, Fafnir.
Meanwhile, the head sorcerer from Mickey's home village is brought into a trap. Seemingly trapped forever~but he sends a charm out with a mouse in search of Mickey...
Towards the end, Mickey finds Pete and challenges him for the Diamagic crystal (that Pete stole in the last issue) Mickey beats Pete, gets the crystal back and the trio head back to Mickey's home.
This one gets a 4 out of 5. Like I always say, Boom is doing some great work with their Kids comics.
