As Valentine's Day winds down, what better time to put up some news about Halloween?

First issue of Devil's Due's horrific re-introduction of Michael Myers sells out with a second printing in works.

Stefan Hutchinson's true-to-history story combined with artist Tim Seeley's dark vision were enough to sell all of Devil's Due's initial stock of Halloween: Nightdance #1.  The first issue of the new 4-issue miniseries premiered on shelves February 6 and in less than a week has sold out on the distributor level with Devil's Due's last stock on its way to satisfy orders.

"It's great news that the books have found an audience so quickly, and it's a testament to the endurance of John Carpenter's classic film
that the character of Michael Myers is still so popular in 2008—exactly 30 years after he first began terrorizing audiences,"
said Hutchinson. "Hopefully, this will lead to the release of many more Halloween books, which is great, because we have a lot of stories planned."

Despite overprinting and healthy orders from Diamond Comic Distributors at the distributor level, Halloween: Nightdance proved to
be understimated at the retailer level, where new orders are now being filled as the last of the the issue's first print run is shipped to
Diamond.

"We're really glad to see Halloween: Nightdance exceeding expectations with the first print now selling out," said Devil's Due President Josh Blaylock.

In addition to issues left on comic book retailer shelves, copies of Nightdance #1's exclusive movie tribute cover also remain available
for a limited time at Devil's Due's webstore.

Devil's Due is currently planning a second printing with details to be announced soon.

Diamond order numbers for Halloween: Nightdance issue #2 and 3 are as follows:

HALLOWEEN NIGHTDANCE #2 SEELEY CVR A JAN08 3545
HALLOWEEN NIGHTDANCE #2 CUNNINGHAM CVR B JAN08 3546

So make sure to let your comic shop know if you're interested in the light up edition.  First you'd want to make sure they order it.  Second, you'd want to make sure you could reserve a copy before they all sold out.  I have a feeling these will go fast.  Retailers have been burnt in the past with all the gimmicky covers and may be somewhat reluctant to order lots of these.  So if you're into Halloween and want a diffferent cover, make sure to let them know.

Devil's Due Publishing is proud to unveil one of the most terrifying images to heat up comic book shelves in 2008. This February's Previews exclusive variant cover for Stefan Hutchinson and Tim Seeley's Halloween: Nightdance #1 comes loaded and lit up with a chilling new glow-in-the-dark scene from artist Crash Cunningham.

The painted cover accompanies other variants by Tim Seeley and Bill Sienkiewicz for the series' first issue, which will see horror icon Michael Myers terrorize a small Illinois town. Nightdance comes courtesy of the writer behind the documentary Halloween: 25 Years of Terror.

This post relates to: Michael Myers, Greg Capullo, Bill Sienkiewicz, Sean Phillips

Here's a preview I've been saving for the holidays.  I was going to put this up the other day but I thought, this would be perfect for the day before Christmas.  A way to spred some joy to everyone.  It's good seeing some more work by Bill Sienkiewicz.  It's also good to see that there's other real talent working on this.  I think that shows that this won't be just another Halloween comic.

One of the greatest continuing horror stories of all time gets the royal comic book cover treatment it deserves in February. Four maestros of the macabre will step up to render Devil's Due's "Masters of Comic Book Horror" variant editions for Michael Myers' new miniseries Halloween: Nightdance.

Legendary artists Bill Sienkiewicz (Elektra: Assassin, Stray Toasters), Sean Philips (Criminal, Hellblazer), Greg Capullo (Spawn, X-Force), and Ben Templesmith (Fell, 30 Days of Night) all have covers in line to appear on Nightdance. Each issue will feature a special edition cover that spotlights one of these indispensable visionaries from comics' scariest tales.

Their horrific imagery graces a chilling new Michael Myers tale as he terrorizes the small town of Russellville, Illinois. Writer Stefan Hutchinson and artist Tim Seeley (Hack/Slash, Loaded Bible) kick off Myers' new murderous saga with with cover artist Sienkiewicz in Halloween: Nightdance #1.
