Mike Asher's day started off normally until he had an argument with parents he then left them to go to school where an argument broke out with his girlfriend Kary about having sex, being pushed around by a bully named Joey. He met Fagin where he then decided to skip school and steal some food from the dinner they ran into an angry mob attacking a mutant deciding to recuse the mutant they were outnumbered but luckily for them , Hoffman showed up with Oswald who cleared the scene with an explosion.

Upset with his whole life, Asher cut open his hand while punching his computer monitor angrily. A group of goth kids then talked to him and told him their plan to blow up the school. Asher admitted to them he was a mutant which scared them so they ran away from him. Fagin, watching the goths run away, ran into the bathroom to find Mike, who was attempting to commit suicide. Fagin knocked the knife away and told Asher what being a mutant was really all about is power.

Fagin brought Asher to a nightclub and offered him to join the cause , where Fagin introduce him to fellow Brotherhood member Marabeth who was also there. Asher went to throw a punch at joey who him that he had sex with his girlfriend as a taunt, but Asher was quickly knocked to the ground, Fagin again saved him and scared off the bully . Fagin warned Asher that the Red Cross trucks scheduled for HIV testing in his school today but they were actually for looking for the students for the X-Gene. As security tried to restrain him to force him to take the test, Asher outed himself as a mutant,then promptly ran from the anti-mutant mob that ranned after him.

Hoffman and Orwell showed up at the school and interrupted his conversation with Kary . Pulling the fire alarm, he ran to the goth kids' secret hiding spot . Asher was shocked to find the goth twins dead, with Fagin and Marabeth standing over their bodies. Asher started to accuse Fagin, but Marabeth sepped up and told him she was responsible for all the killing. When his girlfriend accused him of using his mutant powers , his dad and Hoffman barged in. Hoffman announced to Asher and Fagin that they would be getting a look at the Brotherhood from the inside the London Cell as full time members saying farewell to his dad.

In a military base, Asher was forced to watch the riot in Philadelphia caused by Hoffman. Marshal offered him a way out of the group, by helping him take down Hoffman and the Brotherhood. Going to the traitor's house, Asher tried to knock on he door. After a call to Marshal and some turning on the gas heaters Asher then cut her arm and left the body in the apartment. going Back to Marshal's office, Asher dropped Jane Smythe's hand on his desk.

Asher wondered aloud if they should try to alert X-Force, which resulted in risen tensions between him and Fagin, but Malon Reeves had pulled them apart. attacked by Vivisector U-Go Girl dropped him on a car using her teleportation, Before passing out he overheard Hoffman and Marshal arguing, and noticing a trail of his blood flowing towards them which ignited killing them.
