Despite having saved the city from an alien threat, the Metal Men find themselves surrounded by the police, guns drawn. Suddenly, a chilling new menace appears. The police immediately begin firing on the gigantic, nightmarish figure. Mercury leaps into the fray, only to be shattered into hundreds of individual globules. Mercury's globules roll back into the officers, felling them. A young child moves too close to the conflict. Platinum is quick to return the child to his mother. The haunting creature seizes Platinum, intent on making her it's queen. The fire department joins the battle, firing high pressure jets of water at the horrific apparition. The creature is unfazed, merely turning the water to steam, with a wave of it's hand. When the phantasmal figure steps through the firemen's life nets, the Metal Men swing into action.

Gold molds himself into an enormous cup to catch any falling firefighters. Tin molds himself into the bottom of the cup. The creature tears the firemen from their ladder, but Iron is quick to catch them in the giant metal cup. Impacting the hard metal of the cup, though, injures the firefighters. The police, now believing that the Metal Men are in league with the alien horror, open fire on the team. Lead quickly molds himself into a shield to protect his fellow Metal Men. To Lead's dismay, the bullets ricochet back on the officers. Realizing that mankind will never trust them again, the Metal Men return to their crypt, where they are deactivated. Only Platinum is left behind, still in the crushing grip of her monstrous antagonist. To demonstrate it's great power, the creature puts all the police and firefighters to sleep.

Then it animates all the store mannequins in the city into an army. The mannequins rampage through the streets, destroying everything in sight. The threat to the city becomes so great, that the police call on the Metal Men to save them. Reactivated, the Metal Men hit the streets with a massive flame thrower, and incinerate the mannequin horde. Meanwhile, the eerie creature has carried Platinum to it's spacecraft. As they fly across the globe, Platinum spies a violently erupting volcano. Spinning herself out into platinum wire, Platinum binds the creature, preventing it from controlling their flight. The spacecraft plummets into the volcano, and is quickly consumed. Long moments pass. Then a single hand reaches up from the churning depths of the volcanic inferno. The question, though, is who's hand is it?
