A giant robot dinosaur menaces New York City. Despite their best efforts, the US Army are powerless to stop it. Strangely, the mechanical monster seems focused solely on the Metal Men, and their inventor, Doctor Will Magnus. After a brief spat with Mercury, and, once again, feeling spurned by Magnus, Platinum attempts to sacrifice herself, to buy the team time to get away. Magnus orders Lead to rescue Platinum. Lead rolls himself up into a large pipe, to provide Platinum a safe channel to run through. Platinum, though, refuses to run back to the Metal Men. Lead is batted away by the dinosaur's tail, prompting Iron to launch himself against the creature.

Iron ricochets off the dinosaur's chest, and rebounds into Tin and Mercury. Gold transforms himself into a whirlwind of gold dust, providing Magnus with enough cover to get to Platinum, and convince her to rejoin the team. Once the team has regrouped, they continue to flee, en masse, from the dinosaur. With the dinosaur closing in on them, Platinum recalls the recent chain of events that led to their dilemma. Magnus, Gold, Iron, Lead, Tin, and Mercury were playing cards. They were so engrossed in their game that they were completely ignoring Platinum and Nameless. Platinum took Nameless out for a makeover, but upon their return, neither Magnus, nor the Metal Men, turned a single eye towards them.

Days later, Platinum again tried to garner their attention by showing off a dinosaur charm, sent to her by a secret admirer. Still, the men paid her no mind. Only when the dinosaur came to life, while growing to gigantic proportions, was their game disturbed. Tin leapt to shield the team from the creature's attack, but proved too feeble to offer much of a deterrent. Iron and Lead prepared to attack, but Platinum stopped them. Chastising the men for always being so quick to resort to violence, Platinum, instead, led the dinosaur into the kitchen, and fed it pots and pans. For long moments the creature seemed docile enough, until it tried to consume Platinum and Magnus, forcing Iron and Lead to bring it down.

The creature quickly revived, however, and thus the chase began. Having finally caught up to the Metal Men, the dinosaur swallows them all whole, including Magnus. The interior of the robot dinosaur turns out to be the cabin of a space craft. Having collected it's quarry, the dinosaur flies off into space. The dinosaur journeys to a small planetoid, where it lands before it's robot master. Immediately, the dinosaur is scolded for bringing all of the Metal Men, when it's master only wanted Platinum and Magnus. Gold, Lead, Iron, Mercury, Tin and Nameless are hurled into a metal smelter, and alloyed together. Platinum is the next to be pulled out from the dinosaur's innards.

As she is dragged away from Magnus, she begs for one last kiss. Magnus is released in a separate room. The dinosaur's robot master produces an android duplicate of Magnus, which it then occupies with it's own consciousness. In this way, the dinosaur's robot master hopes to court Platinum. Magnus lies on the floor pacified, helpless to stop his robot rival. Platinum, however, instantly sees through the charade, and spurns the android's advances. Changing tactics, the dinosaur's robot master downloads it's consciousness directly into Magnus' mind. Again, Platinum is not fooled by her robot suitor.

Realizing that Platinum will always refuse him, the dinosaur's robot master has Magnus and Platinum hurled into the smelter. Though alloyed together, the Metal Men leap out of the smelter, and rescue Platinum and Magnus. The dinosaur's robot master activates his defensive arsenal, but the Metal Men quickly destroy it. The dinosaur draws Magnus and the Metal Men back inside itself. It is then ordered to fly into deep space and dump them. The dinosaur, however, disobeys it's orders, instead returning Magnus, and the Metal Men, to Earth. It is the least the dinosaur feels it can do, for having been so generously fed, earlier, by Platinum. As the robot dinosaur returns to it's master, Magnus is left with the task of separating the Metal Men from their alloyed form.
