Mentor's processes vast amounts of information at superhuman speeds. He can calculate the weakest spots of any given opponent and focus his attacks on them. He can fly through an anti-gravity device built within his costume.Longevity:Though not hinted at previous stories, "Uncanny X-Men" #479 (December, 2006) depicts him as several centuries old. A flashback to a centuries-old battle between the founding members of the Imperial Guard and a Phoenix host called Rook'shir was depicted. Gladiator, Magic, Mentor and Quasar are depicted among the founders.
Age of Apocalypse
As in the regular Marvel 616 universe, Mentor was a member of the Imperial Guard in this alternate reality. Along with Gladiator and the rest of the Guard, he confronted Gambit and the X-Force, mistaking them for enemies when they teleported to the M'Kraan Crystal. With the help of Rictor, Mentor and the Guard attempted to capture the mutants, only to be killed by the M'Kraan's expanding crystal wave while Gambit and his team escaped.
It is not known what alien race Mentor belongs to. He has heightened intelligence, allowing him to calculate massive amounts of data, predict future outcomes, and find weak spots in opponents. He also can fly with the use of a "flight belt".
