Men In Black 3 Could Start Filming In 2010
Looks like will be getting a third Men In Black movie. I do wonder how many people are aware that it actually started out as a comic book way back in 1990. The Hollywood Reporter posted that Sony has put "Tropic Thunder" writer Etan Cohen to write the script. The plan is to begin filming in 2010, possibly as early as the spring.
Since the first two films were such blockbusters, this seems like a no-brainer, right? The thing is, neither Will Smith nor Tommy Lee Jones have officially signed up yet. Apparently Smith has stated recently that he would be interested in returning to the role of Agent Jay. MIB2 was released back in 2002.
Is the time right for another sequel? The two movies have earned a reported 1.1 billion dollars worldwide. Salary could be a factor in getting both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones to commit.
Could the movie succeed without one or both? I enjoyed the first movie. I could be wrong but I'm not sure if I've actually seen the second movie, as crazy as that sounds. Are you looking forward to some more government-chasing-aliens action? Maybe if they can't get both actors to return, Sony should give me a call. I do have a black suit and shades...
I disliked both films. So three is kind of whatever. I dont see why it would not work recast. I know Smith is "the" draw but i still think it would work without him.
I never saw MIB2, I know Johhny Knoxville was a funny looking alien in it, some female-alien person wanted ... something, but only Tommy Lee Jones character knew where it was, so they gave him his memory back went and kicked the alien's ass.
I assume if the two of them sign up it'll probably be the same idea spun differently.
@G-Man: Granted, the studio would save $ because you already have your black suit and shades but how would they be able to film you when all you would do is either play with all the props and read comics while you're on the set?
Comic Vine members know you too well, G, we know you too well......

The racer X one?
Liked the first one, disliked the second, rewatched the first later in life I now dislike them both.
A third... ? NO!!
I'd want another MIB the first two were great. Heck I wanted another Addams Family film from Sonnenfeld but Raul Julia sadly passed away before they could've done another one. :(
I liked the first one, the second one was great too, but I felt like their was something missing, and as long as they do it right like they did with the first two, this should be great as welll
Good lord, as if the Second one wasnt bad enough, they had better knock the ball out of the park for me to like this one. First is a classic.
@Voidheart: Not the Racer X one, this one:
I'd just put on my black tie instead.
HELL YEAH MIB! I would love for a third just cause the first one is very Nostalgic for me, But yeah smith and jones is a must or it's a bust
" @DMC: Don't always believe everything you read on wikipedia. Plus did it state who was writing and when they'd start filming? That was new info.

I know. That's why I stated the source : )
If both Smith and Jones commit, I'm in. I liked the original a lot more than the sequel, but both have their charm (as did the animated series).
I always wondered if they were going to make another one...... I'll see it if both actors reprise their roles...
