The first of two volumes published by Aircel Publishing before being sold to Malibu later to be bought out by Marvel. This volume follows Agent Jay as he is introduced into an agency that deals with situations outside of normal laws and restrictions, Situations such as a stopping a super drug called bezerk in one issue and alien encounters the next, with a demonic rampage wrapping up the volume.

Lasting only three issues the series was followed by book 2 the next year and a few one-shots after the release of the film adaptation.

    Films and other Media

After Marvel acquired the rights Men in Black was adapted several feature films and a cartoon series, as well as novels and an amusement ride.

Notable differences from the source material include the agency's policies on not murdering witnesses and only taking cases of extra-terrestrial nature. Another would be the changing of Agent Jay's background including his race to African-American.
