I was always amazed with the mechanics of how they communicate.
Does she have any special ability for that? Can she really understand him word by word, or does she just knows what he wants and then compose it into a full sentence? Where they always like this in the comics, or did they learn to do work this way?
Medusa
Character » Medusa appears in 1474 issues.
Medusa is the Queen of the Inhumans and the primary interpreter for her husband Black Bolt, the King of the Inhumans. Medusa is best known for her long, thick head of red hair, which she can psychokinetically wield like countless extra appendages.
How does she knows what's Black Bolt's thinking?
I always looked at Black Bolt as more of a figure head and Medusa is really the one who leads. It kinda takes that "Behind every great man, is a great woman" to the next level.
I'm beginning to think she could possibly read his mind. Although he does do a special type of sign language and Medusa interprets it for him. She could be psychic and read his thoughts. Something like that.
"I prefer the realistic approach: it's cheesy comic writing from the 1960's. Deal with it. "

When I saw this topic title, I had the same thought as NP. That would be a wicked kind of cool to reveal something like that, if the Inhumans ever went to war again, but it would really take away from all the majestic moments that have been written for Black Bolt.
XK's probably right, and that's actually pretty cool, because leaving the mechanics of their communication unstated leaves all of the possibilities open. Sometimes, simpler is better, and that's what makes the old school stories still worth reading. ;)
