    Maverick first meets Elena, who wants his help in locating Sabertooth, who killed her mother. The two are pursued by Omega Red, who still wants the "Carbonadium Synthesizer". They are aided by John Wraith, Maverick's old teammate from Team X, and chased by the Royal Canadian Airforce.

    Maverick #1 - The Sword Sung on a Barren Heath by methias on January 21, 2008

    The story here is pretty good, it introduces an important character in Maverick's stories, Elena Ivanova. This is also one of the very few times that we get to see Kestrel (John Wraith) in all his glory. The flashbacks of Team X don't tell much new, but they reestablish some things that were already known, Creed (Sabretooth) is a sociopath, and Wolverine hesitated a lot when it came to killing innocents. My problem with this issue is the artwork. The whole issue is very dark, although that fits ...
