Adam Austin was trying to pitch his idea of the "Masked Marvel" to a comic book editor when Electro attacked. At the time, Austin had built a suit to promote his new character. He donned the suit and was able to defeat Electro with it. After this display, Austin the editors became interested in publishing the "Masked Marvel" title.
Recently, Austin has chosen to register under the Super-Human Registration Act.
