What do you think about Shailene Woodley being Mary Jane Watson?

Mary Jane

Mary Jane Watson is the major love interest of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. She married him but didn't(!), now she's one of the few people who know who he is, and still supports him as his closest friend and confidante.

What do you think about Shailene Woodley being Mary Jane Watson?

She doesn't necessarily strike me as Mary Jane, but she's a good actrees, I have faith.

The two biggest things she's been in are the movie The Descendants, and a terrible TV show called The Secret Life of the American Teenager. She was great in The Descendants, and she's good in American Teenager, she's not the problem for the show, it's terrible writing.

@The_Tree: ah, that show, I was wondering why she looked familiar...I think you've just ruined any potential she had for me as being a good Mary Jane unless she goes for a drastic makeover

I just think she is too young looking. She is pretty and not a bad actress, just not the best look IMO.

Seen her in a few episodes of the secret life of an american teenager show she was in..GOOD LORD SHE WAS AWFUL. So bad. I cried at how bad she was. She's far too young to compare to Andrew Garfield and is not nearly as feisty as MJ should be. Awful casting, etc.

Hmm, never seen her in a film before. Looks like they are still aiming towards Peter and the gang barely in their twenties, if that.

She's an average actress but I hope she gets a hot redheaded makeover. I would finally like an MJ to look and act like MJ.

I was surprised to hear that she would (most probably) play MJ in the sequel. Not the bad kind of surprise but I didn't even account for her in my list of actresses who were capable of portraying Spidy's girl. Is she good or bad? I have no idea. I have yet to see her acting talents. I do have high hopes for the sequel though seeing as I really enjoyed the first one. :)
