Mary Jane Comiquette by J. Scott Campbell and Sideshow Collectibles

Posted by G-Man (37745 posts) - - Show Bio

It's no secret I'm a fan of Mary Jane Watson. I've mentioned before how she is the one for Spider-Man. She knew his secret from the beginning and wasn't star-struck and try to latch onto him right away. She was there for him when Gwen Stacy died and even sacrificed her love and marriage for the sake of Peter.

You may have seen pics for this out of San Diego Comic-Con but the Comiquette designed by J. Scott Campbell is now available for pre-order on Sideshow Collectible's website.

The statue measures 11.5" H x 5.75" W x 5.75" D and is a polystone statue. The statue was sculpted by Steve Schumacher, painted by Kat Sapene and, of course, based off of J. Scott Campbell's design.

It has a price of $249.99 and ships in February 2014.

You can find more information HERE. If you feel bad for missing my birthday this year...

I'm confused. What is she supposed to be doing?

Helping the viewer.

Sexually.

I mean the draping the costume over herself.

Or is that what you meant too?

Since it's Campbell's drawing that is most likely what he was going for.

@jwalser3: Well it's a "comiquette" AKA a statue. Sideshow stuff is a limited stock. They only make so many and they sell out pretty quick for more popular characters.

I like MJ and would go for this, but I currently can't afford anything pricey like this. Once I get a job maybe. J. Scott Campbell's designs are really awesome though. I need to win the lotto and buy all 3. C'MON LOTTO!

I also hope they make a Black Cat, even though I already have a Adam Hughes Black Cat statue. You can never have enough Felicia though.

So much want, but so little money to spend on a statue...

Such a cool statue.. Conversion to South African currency and its becomes way too expensive for me :( The paint work on it is great though.

@v_scarlotte_rose: Now you see that joke would have been funnier if i'd have actually looked at who posted the picture rather than just assume whoever it was, was male............please allow me to go see a doctor so I can get this shoe pulled out of my mouth!

#38 Edited by V_Scarlotte_Rose (6521 posts) - - Show Bio

@strider92: Oh, so this is a "visually appealing" thing?

If so, it's also not necessarily safe to assume that only males would enjoy such a thing.

Just try to be more careful in future, and have fun at the doctors. :P

@v_scarlotte_rose: Considering i'm allergic to anesthetic it will most likely be pretty painful if that makes you feel better!
