Not familiar with him/er but I know his/her 1st app is in New Xmen 128, I found 2 copies at the LCS for a buck apiece so I bought both, also bought 2 copies of x men 129, anyways who is this fantomex character, a villain? hero? badass? nobody? popular/cool? boring?

1. Not a villain. More of an anti-hero

3. Yes,he is cool/popular,but not really Deadpool level.

Does he have the potential to become more popular? Any arcs based on him, or any origins told yet? I'm going to read New x men 128 and 129 to see what he is all about. Looks like another deadpool, but in white instead of red.

Is fantomex a monthly series? I know it just came out, but I was thinking maybe it could be a good starting point.

i've never heard of him until i got an action figure of him.

@al_capown: Yeah, definitely read Remender's Uncanny X-Force. Fantomex plays a big role in it.

basically heswas part of the program that created wolverine. he has perception altering powers. hes a master thief. hes part of remenders xforce and hes fake french. i like him. he was inteded to spoff generic popular characters but became one. his new max series is decent and hes a decent heroclix

IIRC he's a hommage to Fantomas or at least his name is.
