Iron man. How anyone can say Spider-Man in the movies is close to how he is in the comics is surely mad. Spider-Man in the comics looks younger and is a wisecracker, Tobey Maguire is fat and unfunny.

I'd say Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk.

Not only were the actors very well casted, but the stories were very close to the comics.  The charcters' personalities were very well represented.  I thought Downey Jr. portrayed the very carefree (yet deep-down, caring), brilliant, driven billionaire to a T, and Norton (although most of us were more interested in his Green-side) showed the determined, calm scientist exceptionally well.
Also for Thor, Chris Hemsworth did a very good job. He made Thor very other-wordly, larger-than-life, but not too corny.
So far, with the films Marvel has had their own studios on, they've done the best.

Robert Downey Jr as Iron  Man has been the best so far, though Patrick Stewart's Xavier was pretty good.

Its too bad that Marvel Ultimate Alliance video game Galactus was cooler than the movie version!

At least Silver Surfer was pretty cool.

But really, is Iron Man all that tough to sell? It's a pretty basic plot.

Yup, Downey IS Tony Stark and he was written to a tee. I even hear his voice when I read Invincible Iron Man now.

Everybody Is overrating Hemsworth,he did good as Thor but  he didnt even portray him down to the very T.

I knew something was missing, his dialog was all off,He went from a Aussie accent to modern day British accent, there were no Thou, tis, nay etc in his dialog..lol

    BTW my choices are

    Patrick Stewart-Professor X
    Robert Downy Jr- Ironman
    Kelsey Grammar-Beast
    Ellen Paige-Kitty
    Hugh Jackman-Wolverine
    Gwyneth Pawtrow-Pepper Pots
    Toby Maguire-Spider-Man
    Famkee Janson-Jean Grey
    James Madison-Cyclops
Ian Mckellan-Magneto( A bit frail looking, but Eric is an older man, just more physically striking)

Chris Hemsworth and whole Tho r cast were good, but i'd like to see more of Hemsworth as Thor before just saying he was born to play the role.He was good, but not the best choice.

PERFORMACES IM ON THE FENCE WITH

    Terrence Howard -War Machine
Jennifer Gardner-Elektra(She was good, but im not sure what it was that was off)
    Nicholas Cage-Ghost Rider(No emotionality, No connection,felt weird..for me)
Scarlett Johansen-Black Widow(Haven't seen enough, and so far no Russian accent :( )
Halle Berry-Storm( Not  really her fault, not enough screen time in first two films,no accent in the rest of the films, again not really all her fault, did better in the last one)
Jessica Alba-Sue Storm( a bit convincing, but too young.A lot of people complained that she wasn't even white -_-,but i agree too young feeling, not mature enough for the role, very off)

    BOMBED

they handled Venom horribly,i hated that
    Kingpin
    Bullseye
    Rogue
    Both Sabertooth's
    Silver Fox
Emma Frost(please fix her in first class)

though whole Wolverine crew stunk..lets put it that way....

Silver Surfer,Thing,Beast,Wolverine,Nightcrawler,Magneto,Prof x, Gambit was ok..,The first Mystique, Lue Farigno /Hulk(looked the part haha) Ironman, Jokers (different versions in the comics), Bale and Keaton/Batman (again different comic versions) Ghostrider, ... Never read Spawn or Hellboy.... Most of X-men are painfully off, No one has really ever did a perfect Superman IMO , Mr.Freeze ,Bane,Riddler and most 90's Batman movies are a bit off, Kingpin,Bullseye,Electra,Daredevil,Catwoman, Lex Luthor, All off.... Most of them I don't mind but others really bug me to the point of not even wanting to watch. Divid Hasselhoff played Nick Furry once btw lol.

I totally agree with Iron Man. He is the best-adapted character from comics to film, even more than Superman, Batman, and a number of characters from the various X-Men movies, who were all very, very good.

However, with Bucky I wish he was notably younger (only a year or so) than Steve and that they'd included the "raised on a military base and a vicious badass" thing that Bru introduced during the Winter Soldier arc. That said, the Bucky they put up on screen was very entertaining and I literally cheered (much to the embarrassment and confusion of my wife) when he held the shield in the film. I'm hoping that the next Captain America film is a Winter Soldier arc and that they cover the "vicious badass" training during his indoctrination process.

Iron Man. Steve Rogers was pretty good too. Especially when he was skinny Steve. Hulk's depiction in TIH was pretty good too, but to be fair, there's not really much to do there. Thor was ok. Not the best, though. Loki and Red Skull, however, were very well done.

Then you have the FF and the X-Men and Daredevil at Fox, which none of those characters were anything like their comic book counterparts. With the exception of Fassbender's Magneto (I felt he captured the essence of the character extremely well), and Chris Evans's Human Torch.

And at Sony, home of Spidey and Ghost Rider, the only one who was true to their comic book counterpart was J. Jonah Jameson.
