I know im a little late because the storyline is completely different now but from my memories he wasn't in any of the first issues and they could've really used him. Did they mention him at all during the series?

I don't recall him being mentioned, he's probably dead.

thats what i was thinking. Ultron probably targeted him first because he knew he wouldve been one of the biggest problems

They should mention him. He isn't the type of character to throw off so easily.
