Or the most important (in your opinion).. Not just in regards to the Punishers Legacy but a mixture of everything else too, the story-telling, story-arcs, artwork. Which had the most influence on his character significance?

I'd have to say my favorite was vol.6. And it was by-far my favorite artwork of all time, absolutely amazing.

The Punisher War Zone was one of my favorite titles of his. Punisher Volume 1 is also a must read. I'm sure there are a lot newer ones but I pretty much stopped after Vol. 3 got cancelled.

Rucka's The Punisher was the best run for the character I have seen by far. It really captured the idea of Frank being a real presence. More vengeance incarnate than a real person. Also the speech Frank gives about being "dead" was excellent.

The Punisher War Zone (the Chuck Dixon issues) probably had the most influence on the character. Steven Grant, Garth Ennis and Greg Rucka stand out as well. (come to think of it, I read somewhere that it was Dixon´s Punisher that inspired Ennis version)

Artwise I´m thinking Klaus Janson and Jim Lee. Can´t name Punisher artists without mentioning Marco Checchetto though, the man is amazing and have done some of the best art I´ve seen in a comic
