Other than TV, movies, and video games, Marvel has two really successful universe, the main one called Amazing, and the Ultimate universe. As a runner up, the alternate future 2099 universe did not meet up to expectations. Other than when Marvel does Marvel Zombies, which isn't necessarily just one universe, more like a fun event, the others fail. I would prefer it if the Amazing universe had maybe 4 to 6 good titles, and Ultimate only 2 to 4. Plus maybe more Marvel Zombies. Any thoughts?

Should Marvel Drop Other Universes?
I hate the Ultimate universe so I vote yes toss it out
P.S. No one will ever change my negative opinion of the Ultimate universe so it'll save us all a lot of time if you don't try
Since when has it been called the Amazing Universe? and your also forgetting the Supreme Power Universe.
i'm "meh" on the ultimate universe, i don't like it, but Ultimate Spider-Man imo is way better than his 616 counterpart...however..he's dead now....sooo yeah
@danhimself: Or they could make new characters instead of remaking the same characters and putting the "dark and edgy" stamp on it and pretending its something newwait...what? I'm confused...what are we talking about?
the way the OP was worded was kind of confusing...it sounds as though he wants Marvel to only publish around 10 books total
People really don't seem to understand the publication of alternate universes. Threads like these make me worry about comprehension skills.

@joshmightbe: this is the line that confuses meHe/she means good books not over all publications

With Ultimate Spider-Man dead I say blow the Universe up. I like Ultimate Captain America but not enough to keep the Universe going.I agree.
Amazing is 616, Ultimate is 1610, 2099 is 928
Yeah we are talking about universe not comics. I just noted that bc if I pick up IIM, ASM, TMT, H, IH, then maybe one or two depending on how they're doing there's occasional good Fantastic Four, FF, UXM, JIM and A. But now there's also XM and with 2 series in the same universe of almost every series it's a bit much. Bc I'm a Hulk fan, I'll pick up the 2 Hulks, but I don't feel like picking up both X-Men, both Fantastic Four, both Thors, if there was another Spider-Man or Iron Man I'd be sorta mad. Oh wait, there's Venom and Iron Man 2.0 starring War Machine. I also buy Venom bc it's well done. And I thought Fantastic Four was gone and there will just be FF. And now I'm also getting The Mighty Thor ontop of Journey into Mystery..... If it was 1 Hulk, 1 Iron Man, 1 Thor, 1 X-Men, 1 Fantastic Four, 1 Spider-Man, I'd get them all, with one shots I'd pick up here and there, and maybe 1 or 2 Ultimate universe comics..... But to keep up with the stories/Marvel universe, picking up more than 1 kind of bothers me and I bet some other people too. I just thought I would write that as an example why they should focus more on less than 10 616 universe titles instead of writing everywhere. With six different 616 titles, plus maybe a short volume or 2, some 1 shots, and 1 or 2 or even 3 Ultimate, wouldn't that be better? I'm waiting for October for some Marvel Zombies. Spidey 2099 should just be space-timed brought to one of these 2 universes.
@danhimself said:I don't think so...they say that they would prefer if the main universe had maybe 4 to 6 good titles and that the Ultimate would have only 2 to 4....why would anyone only want 10 good titles if Marvel was publishing more than that....wouldn't you want all of their titles to be good?@joshmightbe: this is the line that confuses meHe/she means good books not over all publications

Marvel should have a set number of earths like DC does. It makes things less complicated, and can give writers the chance to elaborate on the existing earths/universes.
The ones I'd like to keep are:
616 (obviously)
Ultimate
Earth X
Age of Apocalypse
Old Man Logan
MC2
2099
Noir
Movie-verse
Zombies
Animal-verse (Spider-Ham)
Why should it have a set number and why should you have to want to keep or completely remove any universe? They're not taking up any sort of space nor are they taking any sort of money to maintain.

I won't try to convince anyone. I kinda like Ultimate for being Marvel in DC style, with deeper character development. But i prefer main universe. I also think 2099 is supercool. If I didn't think Ultimate was relevant to what popular comic opinion was, I would go with main universe and 2099. As long as they bring Spider-Ham into one of those 2 universes. Plus movies, TV, video games, etc.
