Marvel Anime TV Series Debuts At San Diego Comic-Con
What do you think? Do you want to see anime versions of Marvel Super Heroes? Having it done by an established Japanese studio adds to the credibility of the project. It won't be a cheap watered down American attempt to capture the anime-feel. What other characters would you like to see get the anime treatment?
I agree. I know there's some people that don't like anime or simply other versions of what they like. I see it as a re-interpretation. Sort of like a good cover song. It's always nice to see what someone else would do with something (as long as it doesn't suck).
" Variety is good. "Yes it is. That's why I don't mind seeing Bucky as Cap or Dick as Batman. Something different that we know won't be around forever. Not just the same old, same old.
I absolutely LOVE the work that Madhouse has done! They've produced some of my favourite shows! They're good on adaptation (the Trigun manga wasn't even half-way completed when they made the series), and big on characterisation with tonnes of adventure. This has me excited!! No matter which Marvel characters they use, I'm sure this will be brilliant!
I think it could work well as they remeber that the American audiance isn't that into the weird Japanes shit the Japanese are into. I like the idea of more adult themed stories, and hopefuly they'll do the stories based off the comics instead using Marvel characters and getting all freaky deaky.

"You don't get much weirder than the Maxx ;)I genuinely think this will work because Mad House have a good back catalogue. The 'weirdest' thing I can think of theirs was probably one of the Urusei Yatsura movies, but that was from about 1984 and the manga was insane too. Most Westerners will probably have seen their work with the Animatrix, or Final Fantasy VII: Last Order.I just found out that they've also done 2 segments for Batman: Gotham Knight. There's a low quality trailer for it on YouTube with some of that animation (not all of it is MadHouse though)."
what is this Final Fantasy VII: Last Order? is it in english yet?
" what is this Final Fantasy VII: Last Order? is it in english yet? "It was originally part of the Advent Children limited edition that was released in Japan, but wasn't included in the DVD release in the West. I'm not sure, but it might appear on the new Blu-Ray version with another new animated spin-off about Denzel.
i wouldnt mind seeing an updated hulk with big robots, monsters, tons of action, and betty big boobs..lol!! how about a better version of the avengers instead of the crappy version that was on fox... you know there going to throw in spidey(imagine anime versions of mj, gwen stacy, and black cat!!!!) i wouldnt mind seeing a anime version of marvel's civil war as a film. that would be sick...
I would love to watch this, I've been hoping for something like this for a while. I hope it comes out on dvd or plays on america t.v. with english voice actors too.
This is something I've been waiting for, and I'm not even a big anime fan. I really dug the Animatrix and Gotham Night, among some other stuff that I've seen, and I think that there's so much more that Marvel and DC could do with animation, particularly anime. Frank Miller mentioned that he'd like to see Zack Snyder do DKR, but I don't think it would work as well in live action. But it would look really slick as an anime.
This is what my picks would be:
Daredevil (he's my favorite comic character of all time, so I guess this is a bit greedy. Have it based on the MK run, that would be awesome!)
Luke Cage (not over exposed and really cool because he doesn't have a costume. Have it show a bit of his involvement with Alias and Jessica Jones, that kind of stuff.)
Runaways (Brian K. Vaughan could take a crap in a garbage can, and I'd still buy it. I loved Runaways and Y: The Last Man, so seeing Runaways as a TV show would be amazing! Plus, his stuff is practically made ofr TV, so the transition wouldn't be that difficult.)
Ghost Rider? (Just to satisfy the "weird Japanese shit the Japanese are into" as goldenkey put it. You have Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch roaming around in the West righting wrongs and fighting demons. There could be some good looking monsters coming out of that, and it's kind of like the Incredible Hulk TV show.)
i agree wolverine is getting played out id honestly rather see them work on lesser known characters out there like moon knight could make a great movie for examplle
This is great news.I think Marvel's stuff kind of lends it's self to an anime style at least more so than DC's catalog, although I did enjoy those scenes from The Dark Night.I don't know I guess anything can really be transformed into an anime somehow.Obviously time will tell if it is good or not but I am sure it will at least be a serviceble adaptation. While the Iron Man Armored Adventures still retained some Americanness(?) it seemed to be anime inspired, to me at least and I like it alot.
A lot of Marvel's artists do lend themselves towards anime styles, and I don't just mean the obvious choices like Humberto Ramos, Skottie Young & Chris Bachalo... although they are great and I would love to see their unique styles turned into an animated series :)
I vote for anime THOR.
I love that well finally get to see the marvel universe in more than just western comics.
like everyone else, i loved gotham knights and the animatrix. i only wish to see MORBIUS animated in the same style of Vampire Hunter D. Rise of the midnight sons would be great or maybe some legion of monsters. Morbius needs better than the "plasma draining" hand things treatment he got in the spidey animated series. real blood this time.
not a huge fan of, but a Silver Surfer done in anime would be amazing.
