    Although in real life the same surname doesn't mean that someone is related, life is a lot more simpler in comics.  I don't believe anything has been stated to say that there's any relation.  I hope they're not & that it's just a quirky coincedence.

    In comics, having the same last name usually makes you distantly related. I remember when all of a sudden Roy Harper and Guardian were revealed to be like distant cousins or something.
    Since Bishop is from the future it's possible that Kate Bishop and Elijah Bradley are his ancestors, but their child has Kate's name for whatever reason. But we can't know that until the story has been written.

    I believe in X-Treme X-Men is was stated that Gateway is Bishop's great great grandson, so it seems unlikely Kate would be related to him in any way.
