No, it's just Marvel has a better cosmic section, while on the other hand DC has a better magic/mystical section.
I think Marvel has like 10 magic users for every DC magic user. I think people tend to think because they have things like "Justice league Dark" that DC is more steeped in magic.
@cattlebattle: Well, it doesn't matter how magic users they have if they're never used. DC have an entire line of ongoings dedicated to magic, such as JL Dark, Constantine, Swamp Thing, Trinity of Sin, Klarion etc while Doctor Strange doesn't even have an ongoing and he's Marvel's main magic user. DC have magic as an important part of their universe, while Marvel have it as a "side project". Their films even chose to forgo magic altogether.

Magic is a very important part of the Marvel universe. Every corner of the Marvel U whether it be X-Men, Avengers, Hulk, Fantastic Four or even Spider-Man has had magical elements to their mythos. Heck, even one of the most primary villains of the Marvel U, Dr Doom is a powerful sorcerer. The character of Thor comes from a place that is steeped in magic. Maybe magical characters aren't their main focus as of this moment, major story lines of recent years were heavily involved with magic.
I wouldn't really use the movies as shining examples of whether or not magic is essential to the universe, the Marvel just chose to acknowledge magic as science at this point. While in DC, they haven't even explored it yet and I honestly can't imagine doing anything that differently. There has even been speculation that maybe the Amazons will be some weird Kryptonian offshoot because the Greek Pantheon of gods and mythology might be too out there for their shared universe.
