Yeah, I thought the Other was gangsta. And was one of the best written Spider-Man story-arcs, compared to Maximum Carnage and Back in Black.

Fantastic Four - original series #1-75 & Annuals, Amazing Spider-Man # 1 - 150 (original series). Though these books are up to 45 years old, they are still great to read and form part of the basis as to where Marvel is today.

X-Men during the late 80's and during the 90's...somewhere along the line, they kind of changed their mood. It is also a plus that they also have the best artist during those time like Jim Lee, Marc Silvestri, among others.

World War Hulk, Civil War, Marvel zombies

#32 Posted by dmstarz (141 posts) - 5 years, 8 hours ago - Show Bio

In the recent Comic Book Resources website poll, I went for Frank Miller & Klaus Janson's Daredevil, though the 'Born Again' storyline is probably my all-time favourite. DD's hard to beat. Chris Claremont's original run on X-Men (up til when Rogue joined) was great, as was his take on the New Mutants. Currently, I'm loving The Twelve - highly recommended!

#33 Posted by dmstarz (141 posts) - 5 years, 8 hours ago - Show Bio

The 18 issue Emma Frost series was very good. I think Marvel lost readers because it wasn't sure how to market the series - the very sexy Greg Horn covers on the first few issues did not reflect the content - I'm guessing by the time they changed (around issue 8), the book was nosediving sales wise. Still would rank it as a very good, under-rated series.

Mine would have to be the Avengers. I have enjoyed the series through the good and bad years. Next would have to be Rom. This series rocked and had good quality story telling.

#38 Posted by danhimself (18741 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

so you guys are all pretty young? i would say along with the stuff i mentioned earlier i would go with romita's run on amazing spider-man back in the day, everything during that time period was ground breaking

ULTIMATE X-MEN mmmmm.... that's the best

#40 Posted by zee crusher (8997 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

I thought you meant put on tv lol. I was about to say Xmen. I have to give this some more thought.

I would go with Ragnarok at least I call it that. The death of the gods Thor taking out both his eyes. Lady sif getting her arm blown off. Ironman and captain america coming to asgard.

Then theres Heart of the universe, infinity gauntlet with thanos.

#41 Posted by shmish (12 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

For me I think it was Daredevil.  In some ways the Fantastic Four was the most "fun" and pretty cool.  I probably got the most involved with the X-Men but those guys seriously confused me with all of the changes.

#42 Posted by Slinger (7640 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

Wow! No one's mentioned either Secret War, or Infinity Gauntlet?

#43 Posted by PhoenixGirl (319 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

I've always enjoyed The Avengers and X-Men the most. Spider-Man is also great.

#44 Edited by Pania (1759 posts) - 4 years, 11 months ago - Show Bio

Claremont's original run, 1975 to 1991. Original Dark Phoenix Saga, Days of Future Past, the Redemption of Magneto, the Shi'ar, the Brood, Mutant Massacre, Inferno, etc. etc. etc.

And then there was his work on the New Mutants, which was first rate stuff.

I gotta say Luke Cage, Hero For Hire and the Power Man series. Pretty much any where Luke is starring in.
