So this French language site might or (probably) might not have discovered what the entire line-up of MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 is.  I'll get to just what all that entails in a moment, but first, let me say that, out of all the announcements coming out Comic Con, the line-up confirmations for MARVEL VS. CAPCOM 3 were some of the most exciting for me. These might’ve gotten lost in the shuffle last week so, in case you missed it, I wanted to point out to y’all that Super-Skrull, Thor, Dr. Doom, STREET FIGHTER’s Chun-Li, DEVIL MAY CRY’s Trish and OKAMI’s Amaterasu have been officially recognized, bringing the current line-up to 16 in total. They’re coming in addition to Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Captain America, Deadpool, STREET FIGHTER’s Ryu, DEVIL MAY CRY’s Dante, RESIDENT EVIL’s Chris Reddfield and Felicia & Morrigan from DARKSTALKERS. And, of course, Dormammu is going to be the villain.

Out of all these, I’m definitely most pleased to see Super-Skrull and Amaterasu confirmed. The Fantastic Four have been sorely neglected in all the previous games, and getting to basically play as all of Marvel’s first family at once is just so appealingly… concise. Also, I'm sure Amatersau’s going to make for all kinds of insane calligraphy-based attacks.

People have pretty much called Super-Skrull and Thor from the beginning. What can I say? They cut distinctive silhouettes. However, Capcom and Marvel have more-or-less doubled the amount of speculation by adding even more silhouettes to the fray. If you look at the back of these promo pics, you’ll see an entire wheel’s worth of possible characters to be debated about. If only there were some kind cheat sheet to figure out who they all are… == TEASER ==

Why.... here's one. As I was saying, a French fan site’s claiming to have sniffed out the list of the remaining characters (through hacking, actually.) The remaining characters, according to them, are as follows…

Elektra and Taskmaster are pretty cool possibilities. I'm surprised she's never shown up before, actually. She's more fitting here than Psylocke. And Taskmaster could be a cool "move's stealer" like these fighting games tend to have. But what's up with Capcom's obsession with Shuma-Gorath. I NEVER heard of the character before MARVEL SUPER HEROES.

Newsarama’s saying this list is kind of bogus and I’d have to agree. Capcom’s reps have gone on record as saying that Frost and the Fantastic Four will NOT be in the game.  And man, I’d be disappointed to see those characters included at the expense of other mainstays. 
 
Anyway, this is enough gristle for your jaws! Get to speculating. Who do you think will be in this. Who do you WANT to see?

Some of the characters I would love, but im gonna call this list incorrect. Mr. Fantastic being on the list when the Fantastic Four were confirmed to not be in kinda makes this list bogus. Though I would've loved at least two of them (Invisible Woman and Human Torch more specifically). Emma Frost and I believe Wesker have also been confirmed to not appear in the game. 
 
So im gonna go and say this list is fake...or at least wrong.

I want to play this game so bad. I'm excited about all the marvel characters, but I'm more excited that Zero is a playable character! Damn I need a PS3.

Its REALLY fake. All members of the Fantastic Four have been confirmed to not be in the game, that's why  we have super skrull in it. So, Mr. Fantastic in the list immediately negates it

I think everything is right except Mr Fantastic since htey said the Fan 4 wouldn't be in it since they have the Super SKrull

The silhouettes probably don't give away the whole line up, seeing how many of the silhouettes in these circles repeat themselves. I mean I can see two Chris Redfields and two Super Skrulls.

If that's the case, I'm giving this a miss.

Marvel and Capcom both have already confirmed that Emma Frost, Daredevil, and a couple of others will NOT be in the game.

The one thing that I couldn't understand about MVC2 was the clone characters.  Don't get me wrong, I loved the game, but given the amazing breadth and diversity of the roster, especially on Capcom's side, I always wondered why we had Iron Man AND War Machine and Adamantium-claw Wolverine and Bone-claw Wolverine.  That's two spots taken for basically the same characters.  Albeit War Machine fires missiles instead of beams and has an extra super and Bone-claw Wolverine has a bit more speed and a little less range, the differences are practically negligible. 
 
I am more than excited for MVC3.  Fighting games are my favorite gaming genre and I can't get enough of them, but I really hope every warrior in the game is totally unique.  To end, who's loving that you can OTG off of what looks like Thor's command grab?  "FEEL THOR'S MIGHT!"  It's gonna be amazing.

I would love the addition of Elektra and X-23 but no Psylocke?  Meh.

Most are good possibilities Frank West and Viewtiful Joe were pointed out and there were hints at Hsien Ko, but I don't think they would bog such a highly anticipated game with three female characters from one game which is sad. Capcom has already said Frost and Mr. Fantastic is out but really Emma has become a prominent member of the Marvel U, although it's mostly because they can't think of any good PSI moves for her or Jean, and don't point at Psylocke for an example because she at least had a knife and was the most recognizable, badass female, with a backstory that was too good to let go, which was reason enough for her place on the game.

Well Silver Surfer was confirmed, and he isn't on the list... 
 
In some article some guy read on gamefaqs, they talk about Silver Surfer being playable.

There is a picture of him, but its just an icon next to Skrull and Doom. Nothing on actual gameplay screens. 

Emma Frost just doesn't make sense. All telepath no telekinetic powers.

My guess on who that mysterious Chuck in the post is that they're referring to Chuck Green from Dead Rising 2.

I think that this is all just speculation because I have seen these list floated around and truth is Capcom just loves people speculating because it gives them buzz. I would expect the next reveal to happen around PAX.

Yeah, I don't see Taskmaster as mainstream enough to make the roster. Though I also didn't see Super-Skrull coming, so who knows.

Other characters confirmed to be absent by Niitsuma include Daredevil, Emma Frost, Gene, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Phoenix Wright, and characters from Rival Schools and Power Stone.
