ComicVine's Top Ten Marvel series of 2011 - Vote!

#1 Posted by ReVamp (22865 posts) - - Show Bio

ComicVine's 2011 Top Ten Marvel Series. All Marvel ongoing series that were published at one point or another in 2011 are eligible. Mini Series are eligible too, but tie-ins are not. Final list will be compiled in the first weeks of January.

Simple. Do as the title says and give me the top 10 books you like the most in Marvel this past year.

Rules:

  • Please order them correctly. (ie, give them a specific order)
  • You are allowed to tie two books in the same slot.
  • Even with the rule above, you can only have 10 books total. Any additional books will not be counted.
  • Please try to keep the minimum number of books to ten.
  • I will compile this as a list in the end, most probably halfway through January.
  • To be eligible for voting your account must be at least two weeks and/or have 50 posts or equivalent in wiki points (I will judge equivalent, just PM me.) I may consider exceptions and I reserve the right to change the eligibility rules during the process.
  • Have fun. If you don't I'll go to CV's HQ wherever the hell that place is and I'll drag InferiorEgo and have him sing a horrible song to you for the rest of you miserable life.

The Sister-Thread for DC comics is here

Don't hesitate to PM me with anything.

1. Superior
2. Fantastic Four/Future Foundation (what a great year for this series)
3. Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz/Ozma of OZ
4. Journey Into Mystery
5. Ultimate Spider-Man

#3 Posted by ReVamp (22865 posts) - - Show Bio

@Caligula: I'm compelled to say that it has to be in the main Marvel comics print and that imprints aren't allowed, but... I won't do that.

Well if you do, it will just remove Superior and my list will stay the same minus superior.

1. The Amazing Spider-Man- Spider Island = Best event ever.

2. Uncanny X-Force- Dark Angel Saga... Wow.

3. Captain America and Bucky- Love that they covered up what happened in WWII

4. The Fantastic Four/FF- Fantastic year for the series (pardon the pun)

5. Daredevil- Waid and DD. What more can a fan ask for?

6. Avengers Academy- It's been charming. And it has Hank Pym.

7. Young Avengers: The Children's Crusade- If mini's don't count I understand, but really, this one's been great.

8. Uncanny X-Men- Post Schism. The Extinction Team rules.

9. The Incredible Hulk- I really like what they're doing with Hulk/Banner.

10. The Secret Avengers- A black-ops Avengers team = Win.

Minis do count, particularly because of this series. Tie-Ins on the other hand don't.

Alrighty. I don't even think there are tie-ins for this one anyway, lol.

It's been good. But there have only been two issues and not too much action. There are two issues left. Still, it's been amoung my favourite Marvel titles this year. If you're a Magneto fan, pick it up.

They do. Tie-ins, however, don't.

Is there a thread like this but for DC?

I really didn't read enough Marvel in 2011, but I'll throw in a few votes:

1) Amazing Spider-Man

2) Venom

3) The Punisher

4) x-23

5) Black Panther

People are leaving out some essentials! *Cough*AoA*Cough*

1. Wolverine & the X Men (not only fun, but packed with dark foreshadowing. GENESIS.)

2. Daredevil

3. Age of Apocalypse (please read this... please?)

4. New Avengers

5. Uncanny X Force (just for Dark Angel Saga, poor artwork after the series pushed me off of the title)

6. Uncanny X Men (SIINNNIIISTTTEEEERRRR!!!!!)

7. Hawkeye (The only reason this isn't higher on the list is that there has only been one issue)

8. Ultimate Spider-Men (I had to eventually drop the Miles Morales USP after reading the Peter Parker for 11 full years. It was just too heart-breaking. FINALLY, some of the characters I really care about, such as Ultimate Aunt May, Gwen Stacy, and Mary Jane, get some closure.)

8. Fantastic Four/FF

9. Ultimate X Men (while currently not as solid as the Ultimates, the book shows much more promise long-term)

10. Summer Event. AvX. Also, Uncanny X Men/New Avenger tie ins!
