I think Amadeus Cho would be over T'Challa (wasn't he ranked one of the 5 or 7 most intelligent people on earth? I don' remember the number). Also Hank Pym may be over Tony and Banner as he was named Scientistic Supreme by I-don't-remember-what cosmic force, but that was more about him being an explorer of science and using it like magic more than actually being more intelligent than the others (I think I remember him asking why Reed or Stark didn't get that title when it was given to him).

I think that was the same list the leader and the intelligentia targeted as the most intelligent guys.

Peter is definitely the least intelligent one on that list (which means he's not even on the list, due to the fact that BP is confirmed as #8). Amadeus Cho probably is on this list.

Spidey is smart but I bet Ock is smarter, r we sure T'Challa is only number 8 pretty sure he is smarter. Yea Cho is 7th.

Yeah see I didn't even remember Cho as a character. Has he even popped up after his run with Herc?

Yes he has... He is, according to Athena, the new Prince of Power. Hercules currently is mortal and does not have his super strength or basic 'godhood.'

Also, Amadeus has done some work with Bruce Banner. and while he IS one of the smartest people on earth, he's not on the top ten list but he could hang with anyone on that list... He has worked with and held his own with the likes of Hank Pym and Bruce Banner.

That's my order anyway. Eternity who did make Hank Pym Scientist Supreme did agree with Hank that Tony and Reed are smarter than him. Also Amadeus Cho's ranking as 7th smartest was from an internet contest, basically hyperbole.

@spinningbirdcake: I've not seen him in any of the series that I read... I'd LIKE to. I loved the 'Incredible Hercules' series. Amadeus is an interesting character... I hope they bring him back soon.

II. Doom why because making overbearing assumptions done in haste without regard for consequences, and all because of his attitude of superiority is STUPID(Brash&Arrogance defined.) How are you just going to make speculations with science? It is dumb, he should have double checked his formula like Reed told him. Even Richards asked Scott Lang to double check his condition to be 100% sure. Then again Doom would be #1 IF(since people like to use IF) Mr. Fantastic wasn't #1.

III. Tony Stark why because Pym, and Eternity both said he's smarter than Pym.I don't know why.

IV. Pym... Pym Particles, Pym Pockets, and titled Scientist Supreme. Now top that.

V. Bruce Banner why... I heard he was in the list he could be 6 I don't care.

VI. McCoy why... I just want him on the list. He rarely gets any credit for being a super nerd.

VII. T'Challa why... because he's MArvels Batman, as in very intelligent all around.

VIII. Cho why he agreed to be 8 after he saw Pyms Pocket.

You know, it's funny, but there's this thing called the Handbook to the Marvel Universe, and it has all sorts of neat information that would answer your questions.

Alright. It has been stated that Valeria Richards surpasses her father, Reed, in intellect, and it's implied that she's essentially the only person who does (celestials, plot event exclusive power-ups, higher beings, etc. notwithstanding). Since Marvel has outright said it, I personally consider there to be no need to provide proof of this fact. Doctor Doom is likely second. I'm going to assume you're only involving (for the most part) heroes and important characters on your list, so I'll keep characters like Alyssa Moy off my list.

You're very right, from hereon in it involves a lot more guesswork. Tony Stark and Hank Pym are both incredibly intelligent, but they specialize in very different things. Stark is an amazing engineer, businessman (yes, business counts), and mechanic; Pym has a fantastic grasp on chemistry, physics and robotics (sorry if I missed any fields there). Hank Pym is credited with creating artificial intelligence, do you have any idea how significant that is? He also discovered Pym Particles (a new type of particle!) and the micro-verse, which doesn't really come up very often. Tony Stark made...a power suit. Granted, his iron man suits are impressive, but do they really stand up against AI?

Bruce Banner and Beast (I assume that's who you meant by "Hank") are difficult to properly place on a scale because of the fact that while we're told that they're very smart, and are shown them in various impressively science-y settings and doing science-y activities sometimes, they haven't really done much of anything to demonstrate their intellect. Granted, Peter Parker 'merely' designed webshooters (not to mention engineered the webbing itself, in high school), but the only things that I'd really say put Beast and Hulk above Spider-man are their degrees.

And somewhere in this whole mess there is Amadeus Cho, who's stated to be the fifth smartest man in the Marvel universe. He hallucinates math; no, I don't know why that means he ranks so highly, but whatever.

Then there's T'Challa, a tactical genius. I don't know where that ranks.

T'Challa usually outsmarts Tony....

I always thought Reed and Dr. Doom were the 2 smartest but is it true that Doom once admitted the Leader was smarter than him? I remember reading someone say that awhile back.

I personally think this list is clearly biased. if the list was the 8 smartestsuperheroes on earth it would make sense. there are plenty of characters whos intelligence and brain activity classifies as superhuman where no one on the official listing is superhuman in intelligence (we can make an argument for reed). the leaders mind has matured far past the norm due to gamma radiation. the high evolutionary literally evolved his mind and body, thanos is from a race that is superior to humanity in every way.. and they aren't on the list. I like the idea but at the end of the day the official list are full of humans with normal human brain activity. there are others who have the potential for more

Thanos has human origins. He is a member of the Eternal offshoot of humanity.

Interesting... but I think you're reaching. He is an alien, and he doesn't even operate on Earth primarily. Not sure that it matters he started out as a human once upon time (for purposes of this list).

Although its specifically ONLY for Super heroes so Doom isn't in it.

The only change I'll make is remove Lunella Lafayette (Moon Girl) from the list since I haven't seen anything impressive from her (correct me if you have scans) and switch Banner and Pym's places. I'll add Peter to the list coz that's the only smart superhero I can think of who's not in the list.

@yoahboy123: Marvel's "official list" also has Moon Girl at #1, Valeria Richards at #5, and Riri Williams at #7. Sorry, but I don't take that list seriously at all. With respect, I highly doubt that any fan who's followed Marvel comics for the last 30 years does.
