The gameplay, like many other Marvel Vs. games, was a very original 2-D fighting game. The game featured the signature "air combos," which allows players to launch a character up in the air and jump after him or her to unleashed several more hits. But it was the overall gameplay of Marvel Vs. Capcom was the thing that made it so famous. The game had a lot of heart with its chaotic, frantic, fast 2-D goodness. Of course, all you comic book nerds are not fighting game fans, so all of you are saying, "Hey, I'm not really into fighting games, as a matter of fact, I suck. Even though this game has my favorite Marvel heroes, but I don't know if that will be enough to get me into this game." Well that's the beauty of Marvel Vs. Capcom, the game is very friendly to all new comers to fighting games, as the game feature some easy to do combo system, and every characters combos are similar to others; some not so much, but easy to perform.
The production quality of Marvel Vs. Capcom is where the game's charm shines. The music for the Capcom characters had remixed version from their respected series. While the Marvel characters had original themes composed for them. The themes for the Marvel characters were very memorable themes, it conveyed the sense of style that each of the characters were going with - justice or bad-assness. Now when you comic book nerds are thinking about Gambit, you end up thinking about the Gambit theme.
The actors from the old Marvel cartoon shows such as: X-Men, Spider Man, Iron Man, and The Hulk have reprise their roles by providing voice samples for the Marvel characters. Characters like Wolverine has his famous, "Let's go bub!" line in the game.
Marvel Vs Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes is a game that should be played by all. If you're a comic book nerd, then you should know how your Marvel heroes can fair up in a fight against Capcom's finest.
